Crazy lineups tests with Kulu Swinhunter!

Hello everyone and welcome again!

This week I've been doing a lot of testing with lineups and in the middle of all of that this new Battle Challenge with Kulu Swinhunter came up and I decided to experiment a bit.

Studying the bots is easy once you fight them and in Bronze is what you will do 80% of your battles so with a little observation I was able to reach some conclusions about facing them that have helped me a lot to raise my level, right now I am playing in Silver III and with a rating for Silver II and with cards at Bronze Level.

What did I do? in this post I will explain it a little bit, so stay tuned!

In case you don't know it...

Introducing Kulu Swinhunter!

Edition: CHAOS LEGION.

Rarity: COMMON.

Element: WATER.

Attack: RANGED.

Abilities: NONE

An as the lore says:

Kulu Swimhunters are members of a race of squid-like creatures that hunt in packs. They use their multiple tentacles to wield all manner of projectiles, to include spears, coral, and even fish. They are very aggressive and are known to traverse oceans, lakes, and rivers, killing for sport and leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. They do not value gold or glory and will ally themselves with whoever promises the greatest opportunity to hunt and kill.
The young boy leaned on the ship's gunwale, staring dreamily into the deep green of the water. His father was a simple fisherman, but the boy fantasized about one day being a naval officer... or perhaps a pirate. Anything but a simple fisherman.

Movement in the water below caught his eye, and he leaned over the gunwale, squinting into the depths. A dark shape rose toward the surface. It was emerald green, with two shining orbs set into its surface. As it drew closer, he realized the orbs were eyes. Tentacles waved in the water around it. A squid, the boy thought. He smiled and watched the creature's ascent with interest.

Suddenly, a tentacle shot out of water and threw something at the boy. A dead fish struck him hard in the temple. He winced and staggered, but before he could recover, the tentacle wrapped around his neck and yanked him over the side of the boat. The boy landed in the water with a splash and was quickly dragged down into the depths of the ocean.

This is one of the cards that most of us ignore when we see it because we think it is not very useful but that is not the case at all and you just have to use it to realize otherwise. It has a very good attack and when the Rulesets get creative it can be combined very well and also, it is a very good antibot card, because as it is not often used by players, the bots do not expect it as a regular. Its purchase price is about 9 cents in its regular version and 1.2$ in its Gold Foil version.

How to use the Kulu Swinhunter?

The normal thing would be to use it like any other card with Ranged attack, as far back as possible so that it can do damage to the opponent, as it has no abilities, the further back you place it, the better.

Now, when the ruleset allows you to improvise and you have bots that mark a kind of repetition against? it seems incredible but a couple of changes can make a huge difference.

And for last, My Battle!

Round 1.

image.png

In this battle (and using this simulator) I made two possible alignments that gave me exactly these cards with that ruleset and I thought: Why? if it looks like a bad alignment... But analyzing it makes you realize a lot of things:

  • Kelya Frendul: Speed + Shield is a spectacular buff combination for monsters.

  • Xenith Monk is a great mini tank because he has a lot of life, good speed and at top Bronze level he heals himself.

  • Kulu Swinhunter from second level, why? because she has super sneak, it's safer to place her in this position than near the end.

  • Elven Mystic, Venari Spellsmith and River Nymph are there to bypass the Super Sneak rule and do a lot of magic damage.

  • Ice Pixie is in last position to make the most of its increased speed + Fly to nullify Super Sneak attacks.

This was the lineup with the highest Winrate, so why not use it too and put some human Hack on it?

Kelya, Xenith Monk and River Nymph at level 2 is all it takes to render the bot useless with his own medicine.

Round 2.

Look here the difference of taking only those three cards just one level above, what happened was that my Xenith Monk healed part of the damage received and his didn't because he didn't have the ability yet and since round 1 he already gave me the advantage.

The message of all this is: Do the bots bother you? the only thing you need is to play with strategy and with a little more power in your deck, they analyze more data than you, but the human factor plays in invisible ways that those bots can't see, take advantage of that.

Round 3.

The battle was very even because the cards were very similar but those extra attacks that my Xenith Monk allowed made the difference to pull out this battle.

I always had a card advantage over my opponent and that's what ended up giving me the victory.

Round 4.

This is being the final part of this battle, the plan worked great and attacking the same but with better preparation and you get rid of a strong lineup, so it is important to go up your cards to become more powerful but wait... and the end of the battle?.

That's all for now, Remember to practice your battles a lot because that is where you will find improvement and become a better player. I hope you liked it and that the post is helpful, see you in the next one!
