How to play Splinter Earth in Bronze Modern

Hoy, aprovechando que el battle challenge es con cartas de tierra, decidí hacer una guía sobre como jugar con este splinter en el rango Modern. Tendremos mucha magia, mucho Tank Heal y estrategias muy fuertes que se pueden usar en este formato asi que bienvenidos a este nuevo post.

Today, taking advantage of the fact that the battle challenge is with land cards, I decided to make a guide on how to play with this splinter in Modern range. We will have a lot of magic, a lot of Tank Heal and very strong strategies that can be used in this format so welcome to this new post.

Invocadores

Tenemos cuatro invocadores disponibles, como ves en la imagen yo rente solamente a Obsidian, la dupla perfecta seria Obsidian y Mylor para cuando no puedas usar magia, pero como mi Focus no es de tierra puedo enfocarme en usar otro mazo si no tengo magia disponible. Wizard of Eastwood tambien es una gran opcion y muy bueno para hacer counter a Kelya, Scarred Llama Mage es otro nivel superior, que debes combinar con Kron the Undying o con Xenith Monk para batallas de mana bajo.

Summoners

We have four available summoners in Modern for Earth, as you can see in the picture I rented only Obsidian, the perfect duo would be Obsidian and Mylor for when you can't use magic, but as my Focus is not land based I can focus on using another deck if I don't have magic available. Wizard of Eastwood is also a great option and very good for countering Kelya, Scarred Llama Mage is another top tier, which you should combine with Kron the Undying or Xenith Monk for low mana battles.

La verdad no entiendo muy bien el por que, pero Unicorn Mustang funciona perfectamente con este splinter aunque no enfrentes a enemigos magicos, tiene mucho ataque y mucha vida y si es contra magia funciona al 100% y si no, tienes otras opciones como Mycelic Infantry que lo que tiene a favor es su habilidad, pero tambien hay espacio para elegir otras opciones como Nectar Queen o Venari Knifer con sus Espinas. Grund tambien puede ser una opcion letal y mas si se le combina con Scarred Llama Mage.

Si vas a ir con magia lo mejor es enviar cartas magicas que sirvan como soporte y daño al mismo tiempo, y estas dos son para mi las mejores, Queen Mycelia con su armadura es vital para enfrentar equipos no magicos y el gobblin con su curacion es lo que hace funcionar tan bien a cartas como Mustang Unicorn.

Para Scarred Llama Mage creo que no hay mejor opcion que Kron the Undiying, puedes combinarlo con Xenith Monk a nivel 2 por el Heal, asi lo conviertees en una especie de Flesh Golem pero para formato Modern. Aqui hay mas rango de maniobra ya que no te tienes que enfocar directamente en la magia.

I don't really understand why exactly, but Unicorn Mustang is a card that works perfectly with this splinter even if you don't face magic enemies, it has a lot of attack and a lot of life and if it's against magic it works 100% and if not, you have other options like Mycelic Infantry that has in favor is its ability, but there is also room to choose other options like Nectar Queen or Venari Knifer with its Thorns. Grund can also be a lethal option and even more if combined with Scarred Llama Mage.

If you are going to go with magic attacks using Obsidian as your summoner it is best to send magic cards that serve as support and damage at the same time, and these two are for me the best, Queen Mycelia with her armor is vital to face non-magic teams and the gobblin with its healing is what makes cards like Mustang Unicorn work so well.

For Scarred Llama Mage I think there is no better option than Kron the Undiying, you can combine him with Xenith Monk at level 2 for the Heal, so you turn him into a kind of Flesh Golem but for Modern format. Here there is more maneuvering range since you don't have to focus directly on magic.

Batallas.

Debes tener mucho cuidado con no volverte dependiente del Llama + Kron, porque hay ciertos casos en los que esta combinacion te hara perder, en lugar de asegurarte la victoria.

Battles.

You must be very careful not to become dependent on Llama + Kron, because there are certain cases in which this combination will make you lose, instead of ensuring victory.

En batallas con muy poco mana esta combinacion de Llama + Xenith Monk es casi invencible, poniendo su vida en 12 puntos y dandole un punto extra de ataque, para que asi no puedan tumbarlo las cartas con Escudo.

In battles with very little mana this combination of Flame + Xenith Monk is almost unbeatable, putting his life at 12 points and giving him an extra attack point, so that Shield cards can't knock him down.

Cuando el mana de la batalla ronda los 25-35 puntos creo que lo mejor es ir con Obsidian, aunque eso va a depender mucho del ruleset de la batalla. En esta de arriba por ejemplo, Queen Mycelia fue muy importante por esa armadura extra, sacandole daño al Mustang Unicorn enemigo, y por otro lado Doctor Bligth, que no deja que su tanque se cura y anula por completo la idea de esta estrategia que es mantener al tanque con vida durante toda la batalla.

When the mana of the battle is around 25-35 points I think it's best to go with Obsidian, although it will depend a lot on the ruleset of the battle. In this one above for example, Queen Mycelia was very important for that extra armor, taking damage from the enemy Mustang Unicorn, and on the other hand Doctor Bligth, who doesn't let his tank heal and completely nullifies the idea of this strategy which is to keep the tank alive throughout the battle.

Con el ruleset Little League creo que la mejor carta que existe es Xenith Monk porque tiene curacion, y como no puedes usar al Psychic Goblin aqui, esta carta toma la batuta.

With the Little League ruleset I think the best card out there is Xenith Monk because it has healing, and since you can't use the Psychic Goblin here, this card takes the lead.

Conclusiones

Este es uno de los splinters mas fuertes que hay para jugar en bronce por ese daño magico y tambien por esa potente combinacion de Llama + Kron, se hace muy facil jugarlo debido a esto y las batallas recurrentes en Bronce, pero como dije mas arriba es importante saber diferenciar los buenos y malos momentos para enviar una alineacion. La que mas funciona generalmente es la magia, con Mustang Unicorn como tanque. Hay quien combina al Mustang con Mylor haciendolo fuerte contra Melee y Magia, puedes hacer esto tambien pues en bronce se ve mucho melee, ademas esta combinacion voltea totalmente a invocadores como Tarsa o Kelya. Incluso es fuerte contra Obsidian.

Conclusions

This is one of the strongest splinters to play in bronze for that magic damage and also for that powerful combination of Flame + Kron, it is very easy to play because of this and the recurring battles in Bronze, but as I said above it is important to know how to differentiate the good and bad moments to send an alignment. The one that generally works best is Magic, with Mustang Unicorn as a tank. Some people combine Mustang with Mylor making it strong against Melee and Magic, you can do this also because in Bronze you see a lot of melee, also this combination totally flips summoners like Tarsa or Kelya. It is even strong against Obsidian herself.
