I recommend having the items degrade so people always need them and can't keep them for an extended period of time.

Interesting point, thanks for the idea! Also, spoken like a true web3 gamer! :)

My question is... is that fun? If not, then I'm not sure I'd want to implement a degradation system... Of course that'd be an important consideration if I were worried about an eventual item economy, so I get your point, but if such a thing isn't relevant then I'd lean towards no degradation.
