If you are afraid of spiders then I think this post is not for you because today I will talk about a spider that inhabits the fire deck of splinterlands and its name is Lava Spider, and yes you didn't read it wrong besides being a spider it it also has lava in its webs, is that amazing or terrifying?

And if you still don't know it, it's a common card from the fire deck of the chaos legion edition and today I'm going to talk about whether or not it's worth having it in your hands.

imag 18.png

Let's talk a little about her and at the end of this post I will also tell you about her story, but let's get to what matters, which is her status and abilities.

imag 19.png

As shown in the image above, it is a card that has a ranged attack and has a mana cost of 3, which I consider low, but I don't think you can base it on having or having a card in your hands based on the cost of mana since there is much more to it than that.

In my point of view from level 1 to 3 it is not a card that draws much attention since it has only 1 attack, although the attack is not everything but it does not have an ability that compensates for this, but as common cards of the level 1 to 3 are cards that are used in the bronze league so having only 1 attack and low mana cost is not so bad but I would only put her on the field if I had a good summoner for her like Selenia Sky who would increase her ranged attack at +1.

From level 4 it already has 2 ranged attack and for a low mana cost it starts to compensate, after all having 2 attack for only 3 mana cost is a good deal especially in the silver league where the cards have slightly higher levels don't have much damage and the ones that do have a very high mana cost, so for the silver alloy I think having Lava Spider is a good choice even more with a summoner like Yodin.

And from level 6 onwards, Lava Spider has the Snare skill, which I don't consider a very good skill, but in battles with the earthquake rule it is very useful since in this rule all cards that don't have the fly skill will suffer 2 damage melee and with the snare ability Lava Spider would remove the fly ability from these cards when they attacked them.

Snare - When attacking enemies with Flying, removes the Flying ability and cannot miss those currently with flying. Can still miss monsters without flying or monsters that already have been snared.

And at level 10 Lava Spider has the poison skill and I consider this skill very strong since when the monster with it when it attacks it has a 50% chance to get poisoned and receive - 2 hp at the end of the turn and directly affects life from the enemy, that means it passes the shield, so it's a very useful skill and it makes up for it to have a low attack even at such high levels, but unfortunately it only has this skill at level 10 and it would only be used in diamond league or above .

My conclusion about the card is that although it has a low mana cost it is not that strong or useful in the gold league or above and I would only use it if it was a specific battle, but I consider it very useful in the silver league since its attack is reasonable and it has the snipe ability that makes this card prioritize the attack on cards with distance or magic damage, but since it has a low cost so I think it's worth having it in your hands since you never know when it can be useful.

Now I will show her in battle and what combination of cards I used with her.

The combination of cards was:

imag 1.png

Tarsa as a summoner, I chose her because most of my team has melee attack so my biggest damage is through these cards, in addition she gives +1 hp and hp is never too much.

imag 2.png

As a card in the first position I choose cerberus since it is a card that has a low mana cost so it is very useful for various types of battles, in addition it has a lot of melee damage and also 8 hp that with +1 from the summoner Tarsa gets 9 and since she has the heal skill that restores her hp to 1/3 of her max health so she will now restore 3 health per turn instead of 2 and to complete she has the retaliate skill so in addition to having a good damage he still has a chance to attack again when a melee card attacks him.

imag 3.png

In second position we have Fineas Rage and although it has a high mana cost it has a lot of agility and hp so if cerberus is defeated you can count on it to defend you and dodge enemy attacks, and it also has the oppress ability to deal double damage to cards that don't have an attack, and it's not uncommon to use cards like that.

imag 4.png

In the third position we have the Flame Imp that has magic damage and a lot of agility in addition he has the swiftness skill that grants +1 speed to all his cards which is very useful as it will make many of them attack first and he also has a very low mana cost which is very beneficial

imag 6.png

In fourth position we have the Serpentine Spy which is the card that will do the most damage to the team and has a high speed, in addition it has the opportunity skill that will always make it attack the monster with the lowest hp.

imag 7.png

In fifth position we have Ferexia General and his biggest contribution is having the Inspire skill that increases melee damage to cards by +1, but he also has a lot of damage and snipe skill so he still has a lot to contribute.

imag 8.png

And finally we have the Lava Spider, I left it in the last position because at the level I use it it has a lot of speed and together with the Flame Imp skill it will dodge many attacks so since it doesn't have much damage it's a good one way to use it and is really useful as it has a low mana cost and a considerable amount of hp, but having the snipe skill is also very useful as it can finish many cards.

I think I've said everything I have to say about card composition, now let's get to the battle part.

WATCH THE FULL BATTLE

imag 9.png

The first thing to say about this battle is that I only used 29 mana while the opponent used 43 and even then I had a good result, that means it's a good combination for both high mana and low mana battles .

imag 10.png

As I have a lot of damage so in the first round I was able to defeat Magnor which as everyone knows is a very powerful card from the fire deck so I already eliminated a big threat and didn't lose any cards.

imag 11.png

In the second round I can't do many things since half of mine usually attack the enemy's back and as in this battle all cards have the same amount of hp when it starts so it's not a very good thing, but my defense is still strong and not miss any cards.

imag 12.png

In the third round I managed to eliminate Lava Launcher and I'm almost defeating Elemental Phoenix which is a very boring card to defeat because of the fly skill.

imag 13.png

In the fourth round I managed to defeat Fire Phoenix and I also took a lot of life from the Beetle Queen which is a card that heals the first position card so eliminating it is very good, besides that I didn't lose any card.

imag 14.png

Tenyii Strike was defeated so there is not much defense left for him and the Beetle Queen is also almost defeated, once she is defeated the victory will be decided as ranged cards do not attack in the first position.

imag 16.png

And in round 6 the result was defined and as you can see I didn't lose any cards, so even though I didn't use as much mana as my enemy did, I still had a great result.

Now that I've mentioned what I think of Lava Spider and I've also shown what it looks like in battle so I'll talk about its history and end this post, until next time.

Few explorers dare to go deep within the volcanoes of the world. Tales are told of great spiders that weave threads of fire and trap their enemies in webs of flame. An inescapable and painful death.

When the Chaos Legion entered the Splinterlands through the great volcano in the center of Praetoria, they saw the lava spiders and used them to their advantage. Transporting these spiders into areas that need defense is a win-win for both groups. For the Chaos Legion, it is an easy barrier to ward off unwanted visitors. And for the lava spiders, they get free meals from the curious, the foolish, and the unwary adventurers that seek to strike at the Chaos Legion.
The dwarven warrior crept his way towards a long stretch of stone corridor. It had taken him months to find this secret entrance within the dense jungle. A hideout for supporters of the Chaos Legion. He intended to destroy them all and make safe the area once again.

He made his way silently into the corridor, gripping his dagger tightly. But as he trekked further into the darkness, he felt the heat increase. A heavy frown crossed his features. That wasn't right. Why was it getting so hot?

He turned a corner and stifled an alarmed cry. Crisscrossing the corridor were strands of spiderwebs that glowed red hot. He brought his dagger up, but it was too late. A searing pain stabbed into his back.

He was unconscious by the time the burning web was wrapped around him.
