Bargain Hunting: Top Undervalued Cards to Pick Up to Boost your Winrate!

Chaos Legion Has Arrived!

Or rather, it did a couple of days ago! And what a crazy couple of days it has been! Hope you’re all having fun with the new cards - and that your packs were blessed!

The market has been crazy these last few days. Prices moving faster than we’ve seen for a while, high volatility, and for the most part, big sales! Some cards have taken a huge price drop from just a week ago, while others have moved a lot less! That being said, some cards in my opinion are so massively undervalued - not only are they extremely cheap right now, they are super useful and can boost your win rate significantly for a small investment! I’ve picked out just a few of my favourites to show you today - and to get you thinking about where your DEC should go next!

This is not a “Top 5” like some of my previous post, and these are not in order for me, but they are just what I believe to be the best bargains in the set!

Number 1: Supply Runner!

For those of you who read my previous posts, you will know my love for Supply Runner! It’s a Silver Level card with Swiftness! Not only that, once the Modern and Wild Formats split, he will be the ONLY Swiftness in Silver! That’s crazy, and makes him an absolute must-own card. Speed is one of the most powerful stats in Splinterlands - if you can blow up your opponent before they get a chance to respond with their own damage, you can’t lose!

So this guy must be quite expensive right, with that uniqueness? Especially if I need 60 copies of him to even access that Swiftness. How much are we talking? $15? $20?

$7.20. That’s it! And that’s the highest price I have seen all day! You can see my bid at 8.5 cents per BCX, and I’ve been able to pick up roughly 100 copies at that price! That makes your level 5 Supply Runner just $5.10! Have I mentioned he’s a neutral card yet? Roughly $6 for an incredibly strong card that you can use in every single Splinter is an absolute no brainer to me. I expect this card to go up hugely in price after the packs sell out, and for good reason.

Number 2: Chaos Agent

Another Neutral card for us here, Chaos Agent is a Monster you absolutely have to own again. While initially he looks unimpressive - no attack, low HP, middle speed - at Level 3 he gains Dodge! Why is this important? Let’s look at some of the most powerful neutral cards going to the Wild format: Furious Chicken and Creeping Ooze. While Chicken and Ooze both have very powerful aspects to them (Chicken costing 0 mana and Ooze having slow), Chaos Agent fits a very similar role in the team: Meat Shield. An extra attack blocked can be the difference between a Win and a Loss - and this guy can easily give you more than 1! Dodge makes this guy slippery, giving your Monsters so much time to keep throwing damage out! At higher tiers, he even gains Phase, meaning even Magic units can miss him! Chaos Agent is a much stronger meat shield than Chicken or Ooze ever were, and while they both have their upsides and downsides over this card, Chaos Agent has one HUGE upside: his cost!

At roughly 7.5 cents a copy, just to get him to Level 3 and gain Dodge will cost you $1.05. You can stop there if you’re a Bronze or Silver player! Going to 5 for a little more stats for Silver players is nice, but not necessary in my opinion. Those of you willing to spend a little more could even get a Gold copy for about $1.7. I throw this guy in a lot, so I see that extra 65 cents as a long term investment that I will get back!

Number 3: Tusk the Wide

We all know how annoying Magic damage is, and Obsidian only amplifies that! Luckily, we’ve been given a great cheap answer in Tusk. While he does not solo-win the matchup, Tusk is a massive help against Magic decks. With his Void and massive HP pool, even at level 1, he can tank up the Magic blasts for a few turns while your other units dish out the damage! Just owning a Tusk is going to be essential in this set, and in future as more and more Magic gets released! So how much will this guy set you back? I mean he is an Epic card so he must be pricy, right?

Oh, he’s under $2! And if you’re patient, you can definitely get him lower - I paid just $1.66 on a bid for mine. An absolutely crazy deal for a card that can turn what used to be Fire’s biggest weakness, the Magic matchup, on it’s head!

There we have it!

3 cards that you can pick up for a total of less than $10 that will definitely increase your win rate just by owning them! These cards will not stay this cheap, I feel certain. While this is not financial advice, I do think you should seriously consider these guys.

And that actually goes onto my final point:

Value over Rarity

Now imagine you only have $10 to spend. You can either buy these 3 cards, or 1 copy of a Legendary like River Hellondare. While Hellondare is a fun shiny new toy, I don’t think it will help your win rate anywhere close to as much as these 3 cards! When you’re looking to spend your money, you should be looking for the best value cards over pure strength in my opinion. Supply Runner and Chaos Agent seem extremely undervalued to me, and while they may go lower through the General Sale, once the packs sell out, people WILL want these cards. And if you already bought them cheap, you can dodge the hike in demand later on!

If you guys take anything from this post, it’s to really consider the cheap options over the big expensive Legendaries - they might be better value!

What are you guys surprised to see so cheap? Or conversely, what can you not see the value in? Let me know below!

Hey, these are great examples, although I am not sure I agree with Hellondale as an example - he's insane if used in the right comp! Supply Runner and Chaos Agent being commons makes them so powerful.. the only problem is getting those summoners to be able to use them at the right level.
