Jan 2022. New year, new season.

Just received this incredible gold foil card yesterday from last season’s reward, and I still can’t believe it. This should kick start my Splinterlands account, putting me on the starting line after a week of work.

The stars have aligned and the sky is the limit. My mind is spinning from the possibility of earning some cryptocurrency and putting it in my pocket.

I can finally start Play to Earn officially!

Renting out cards on PeakMonsters

Looking at PeakMonsters seriously for the first time, the experience was quite daunting.

It took me a while to figure out the ins and outs of the various tabs and numerous filters.

Lucky for me the YouTuber that I am following creates guides on PeakMonsters as well.

The plan to break Bronze III

Going through the rental market, I listed my cards for rent, and they were taken up almost immediately. In total, I was earning about 1.5DEC per day. This isn’t a lot, but it is an infinity percent more than what I was getting.

The excitement of finally breaking through this 2nd paywall was hard to contain. My mind started to formulate a plan to move forward in Splinterlands:

Step 1: Accumulate DEC through rental while I continue to grind ratings. I may still be getting zero DEC per win, but it should only be temporary.

Step 2: I will need to stop renting my cards right before the season ends to recover my collection power. After that, using the DEC I have accumulated, I can rent to 1,000 power and hit Bronze II.

Step 3: Sit back and collect the sweet end-of-season loots chests! Maybe I can even play a few games while in Bronze II to earn some DEC.

Who knows what the future holds?

It has been a long gruelling week of paywalls, technical issues, and uncertainty. But, I have managed to pull through somehow and been rewarded with a lucky break.

Things should get better from here on out, right?
