BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! LOST LEGENDARIES......

In my continued effort to bring you low quality, repetitive, cyclical, drivel on a weekly basis, in a change from the precious metals related rhetoric i usually bang on about, I now offer to you my loyal followers, a bang average #splinterlands blog.

Without much thought, or deep contemplation, ill be sharing with you few brave souls that have taken the time to read this post, my weekly BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!. The "share your battle" challange has ended, where the @splinterlands team asked you to share a battle with a specific monster, and now its more about a specific ruleset. This new weekly challenge definitely has its upside, as it allows a wider audience to take part, even when their battle decks are limited.

This week, the team over at #splinterlands has asked us to share a battle with the ruleset "LOST LEGENDARIES". As the name suggests, the use of "legendary" monsters has been taken away. With some of my favourite monsters removed, hiw will i cope??

This ruleset, can completely flip a battle on its head! Conventional battle plans go straight out the window, it also creates a whole new style of play. With the correct selection, it is possible to field a suprisingly deadly team, without the use of the games "flagship" monsters.

Lets go play #splinterlands...... Its not like you can pick and choose the rulesets for every battle!

After playing what seemed like my full allocation of 50 battles, I finally came across the ruleset I was waiting for:

But doing what #splinterlands does best, they threw a spanner in the works by adding additional rulesets alongside LOST LEGENDARIES, just to mess with my mind and really get me thinking.

EARTHQUAKE: NON-flying monsters take 2 melee damage at the end of eaxh round. Unless youre monster possesses the flying ability, then their health can bery quickly wittle down to zero without even taking a single hit....

BROKEN ARROWS: All Tanged attack monsters may NOT be used in battle. Basically you can count out any monster that throws something, although magic attacks can still be used.

Taking these rulesets into consideration, and for once no limit on the summoner choices available to me, I actually decided that for this specific battle, with these specific ruleset, I would pick my tried and tested LVL 5 DARIA DRAGONSCALE. So that i can hopefully use her +1 MELE attack ability, and give me access to the dragon splinter to utalise their flying abilities.

As you can see, its not a bed line up!??! Ive managed to fill all the slots available and use up the bulk of the mana points available for this battle.

When ever I come across the "earthquake" ruleset, my go to splinter is more often than not, the earth splinter paired with Dari Dragonscale. The earth splinter has a few good flying monsters, but for some reason, and luckily i did, I decided to changebutbup a little and pick my death splinter.

Once the two teams are revealed, I always have a quick look at my opponents set up, before hitting rumble. I like to playout in my head how I think the battle will unfold. I try and predict what I think the outcome may be, and judge how well my opponents have set up thier team. With the high mana and specific rulesets, I think ive done quite well and built a very competitive team....

What i will say, from the off, my Cursed Wendigo is now useless left out there at the back! I had hoped my opponent may have used some sneak attack monsters, and his thorns would have combated this. Luckily, his "heal" ability will keep him in this battle right till the end.

So can my lvl 5 summoner take out my opponents lvl 6 WATER summoner?? Its going to be tough.... They definitely have some decent monsters out on display. The +1 speed and +1 armour always scares me. Luckily, I have a few magic monsters to negate his shields, and a solid flying squad that should see me to the end. With that said im sure its going to be a challenging battle. Lets hit rumble and see how this plays out!!

The stage was set, two strong summoners, with very different approaches, these teams are sure to give a great battle.

Round two carried off where round one ended..... My superior speed and magic attacks are ripping through his lineup. My monsters are holding their own and earthquake is only taking its toll on one team. Heres a clue - "its not mine".

My magic attacks are causing havoc, added to that the melee attacks from my front end and this battle surely wont last much longer.

Once my opponents Demon shark and flying squid had succumbed, I then only noticed how much lower level his next monsters were..... My opponent is boasting a higher level summoner and very high level tank monsters, but the mid team sucks majorly!! I wonder what the reason behind this is?? They do seem to be a very odd adution to what could have been a decnent line up.

B this stage my superior numbers and speed had this battle in the bag. It would tsje a while to geind down his Gelatinous cube, with its high health and heal ability, but my strong attack and earthquake would end this battle pretty soon, im sure ofnit.

As I figured, it was just delaying the inevitable.... Without having lost a single monster in battle yet, there is absolutely NO way back from this for my opponent. This surely must be over by the next round?

VICTORY!!!..... His mid team selection really let him down, and was the deciding factor and the reason why this battle was so one sided and ended ao quickly.

Turns out it was a complete and utter blowout in the end! Im pretty chuffed with how that played out.... it couldnt have gone any better i dont think??? The lack of Legendary monsters, played little to no part in this team selection. I may have substituted my Prysmatic Energy for my Dragon Jumper if given the choice or thrown in my Chaos Dragon, but the result would have been oretty much the same I beleieve.

Ultimately, the deciding factor in this battle was the EARTHQUAKE ruleset and not the Lost LEGENDARIES one.

I checked using the SPLINTERTOOL page, the battle shows me as having a 100% of pulling of the win.
