The Twin Paths of Stone and Light

The Twin Paths of Stone and Light
In the rugged land of
Praetoria, a vast orc kingdom built on brute force and fire, twin brothers ruled side by side. They were born on the same night, under the same storm-filled sky, yet they couldn't have been more different. The first was OverPower, an orc with dark skin and burning eyes. He was feared for his cruelty and hunger for dominance. The second was RanRan, pale-skinned, blue-eyed, and quiet, often whispered about as an oddity among his people.
Among the orcs of Praetoria, strength was all about force and fear. OverPower lived by this code perfectly. He crushed rebellions, conquered neighboring lands, and ruled with an iron fist. To him, mercy was weakness, and unity just meant everyone had to obey. The people were terrified of him—and he loved every minute of it.
RanRan, however, saw the kingdom through a different lens. His lighter skin made him a target for ridicule. Many orcs actually believed it meant he was weak or cursed. They mocked him, ignored his advice, and constantly compared him to his brutal brother. What they completely missed was that RanRan’s pale skin was a reflection of something deeper: a pure and good heart, untouched by hatred and greed.
RanRan genuinely tried to change Praetoria from the inside. He talked about peace, fairness, and a future where strength protected people instead of destroying them. But OverPower just laughed at his ideas and totally dismissed him as unfit to rule. The kingdom slowly became a darker place, not just the stone and smoke, but in its very soul.
One night, after watching his brother order the complete destruction of an innocent settlement, RanRan finally realized the harsh truth: Praetoria would never, ever change as long as OverPower was in charge. And if he stayed, he would be forced to become someone he wasn't.
So RanRan just fled.
He left behind the throne, the fortress, and even his title as prince. Alone, he traveled far beyond the borders of Praetoria, across forests and rivers where no orc kingdom had ever existed. Though the journey was incredibly tough, RanRan’s resolve never wavered. He learned from other races, helped those who were weak, and slowly gathered a following of people who believed in his vision.
RanRan dreamed of building a new kind of kingdom—one not built on fear, but on trust. A place where a person's heart mattered more than their skin color, and where strength was used to protect life, not destroy it.
Back in Praetoria, OverPower ruled alone, his power unmatched but his kingdom feeling totally empty and hollow. And far away, RanRan started laying the first stones of a new land—one that would stand as proof that even those born in darkness could choose the light.
