Is Now Really the Best Time to Buy Land??? Maybe Not!

Hey everyone, welcome to my first post! I've been playing SplinterLands for about a year now and I'm finally dipping my toes into the Land Market. Why did it take so long? Because land was SUPER expensive! I had a hard time convincing myself it was worth $600 for just one plot. Well things have changed and the market is much more affordable now. So now for the big question... is this really the best time to buy? As of now a single plot is selling for about $160 - $180 which seems like a great deal compared to earlier this year or last year. And with the SplinterFest right around the corner it's almost a guarantee that new info will drop and the buzz around land will surely grow. That means land price should start to increase right?

Well... yes, however I think a lot of people are forgetting one important fact that may cause land prices to drop even further. What's that? If you are one of the early investors and were lucky enough to buy an entire tract or even a whole region of land... that means you've been holding those plots a reeeeaally long time. And up until at least the start of Phase one of land implementation none of the Tract or Region owners have been able to sell individual plots. Tracts and Regions are all bundled together and can't be split. During phase one land plot rarity, location, and type will be revealed. And all of those individual plots inside each region and tract will finally be able to get split and be sold. I find it highly likely that the region and tract owners will begin flooding the market with thousands of new plots. Of course the rare, epic, and legendary plots will likely be worth much much more than common land, but the sheer volume of land being added to the market will force the overall price down substantially at least for awhile making it the perfect buying opportunity.

The last decision to make is do you pay a premium to buy a plot now before it's type and rarity is known? Or wait and buy cheap plots after the market is saturated? Also, there will likely be a period of time in between SplinterFest and Phase One going live where the hype for land will be at a maximum and the supply will still be very low. So what am I doing? I think the best strategy is to buy now and sell just before Phase One goes live and then use the profits to buy even more land after the price dips when they supply skyrockets. If you buy now or during the hype and hold it until after Phase One, I think you may end up paying too much! Will I be right... or will I be broke? Let me know what you think!
