New players will get rewarded free Delegation Packs, to open and use new cards for 30 days, including Gold Foil Legendaries, maxed out cards ,summoners and cards from every expansion. The cards in the Delegation Packs will be delegated from Experience players with big collections. Experienced players get to loan out cards with incentives to both help new players experience, and also earn special perks themselves.

My Proposals

If you are not familiar with me, I am William Hessian, and I enjoy dreaming up and fleshing out proposals that I think will make Splinterlands better. My ongoing proposals include Splinterlands Achievement System , Adventure Quest idea, and my Splinterlands Draft Format. You can even watch me Splinterlands Proposals on 3speak. **Support!** If you like my proposals: (draft format, animated foil variants, achievements proposals etc) please upvote my content, repost, leave comments, send me in game donations to @williamhessian (which I will use to help make more content) and most of all send this link to other players who might be interested in the format. If we show that people like this idea it is more likely to be adopted by the devs in the near future, and you can vote for this project using the Feedback at Splinterlands: Achievement System.

Delegation Pack Concept

Much like many of my ideas, they are based on spending a lot of time on the Splinterlands discord listening to complaints, ideas, and general questions from players. In fact, many of my ideas are developed by brainstorming in real time with other passionate players. The Delegation Pack idea is meant to address these ideas:

-New Players need an opportunity to experience more cards in their first few weeks
-Allow new players to packs for a fun experience and hopefully lead to sales
-Players with huge accounts have a big advantage and excess bcx (Renting is a lot of work)
-There is a large paywall for new players to experience competitive play
-Experienced players want an easy effective way to help new players
-Grow Splinterlands!
-A recyclable pack opening feature!
-A way to experience unique cards from different sets

What is Delegation?
Untitled.png

Delegation is the tool that makes card rentals possible through smart contracts. When you have delegated a card to another player, it is...
-Still owned by you.
-Playable by the person to whom it is delegated (delegatee).
-Counted toward the delegatee's Collection Power instead of yours.
-Subject to a cooldown period of up to 7 days if it has been recently played by you.
-Visible in your Collection when you choose the Leased Out option from the filters as pictured below.

Good for New Players and Bad for Bots

Delegation Packs would be designed to be a clever and fun way to get a variety of new and interesting cards into new players colleciton, increase BCX and provide unique experiences to that specific player. The thrill of opening packs and getting new cards to use will replicate the same thrill of opening Choas Legion or Untamed packs, but Delegation Packs will only contain cards that will be delegated for 30 days. Packs would be rewarded for completing Achievements (see my Splinterlands Achievement System for more details). The Achievements themselves would favor quests that are harder for bots to achieve, and therefore packs should be going to more humans than bots. In the case that bots do get rewarded Delegation Packs, the algorithyms for bots to assess and deploy random cards from the Delegation Packs would hopefully prove a bit tricky. Therefore, human players should get a lot more use and value from delegated cards when making decks and ranking up.

Great for Experience Players as well

First of all, experienced Splinterlands players in my experience are already generous and in general enjoy helping new playersm however it can be a full time job ust managing delegations and rentals and prizes and giveaways. So Delegation Packs need to be easy. Experienced players realize and will be the first to tell you that their value goes up if new players buy the spellbook, join and enjoy the game. So Delegation Packs need to be effective.

Easy and Effictive. So, how do we do it?

My idea is to allow players of any level to delegate any amount of cards to a Delegation Pack account. This account would be coded to add that card to a pool of availabile cards that could then be opened via Delegation Pack. When a new player opens their delegation pack it will randomly pull 5 cards from the database of delegated cards and transfer the delegation (locked to 30 days). You are instantly linking up new players to experienced players and doing it using all of the familiar tools within the game.

A Vested Interest

Here comes the best part. Cards delegated to new players would be tracked with bonuses. When a Gold Foil LLama comes back to its owner after 30 days, you get a report card. It says, X players had your card for 30 days and used it X times and won X% of their games.....collect Delegation Rewards. The Delegation rEwards could be in game assets like SPS, Dec, Raffles, Voucher tickets etc but I do not think we need to incentivize it in this way. Perhaps instead the rewards could be a leaderboard for delegations, Maverick status and access, delegator tournaments, special discord permissions, and specific high level achievement badges for helping your community. Splinterlands has so many great ways to incentivize our already very generous playerbase and make it a very lucritive and special achievement to be one of the top Delegators in the game. Also, because the Delegation is very clear between who has the card, and who owns the card it would encourage the experienced player to reach out and maximize the new players use of their card. In addition, the new player could be failing at using a new card and may way to reach out to the card owner and ask for advice on how best to use it. Maybe the players become friends, join guilds, delegate additional cards tp support the ones from the Delegation Packs and both sides would benefit.

Bad Idea?

Now, I would love to hear what you think about my proposal idea. What do you think of Delegation Packs and how can they be best used to help bridge the gap between new and old players both competitively and in terms of access to the full breadth of the game? How can we make it better? Just like all my proposals, I would love to keep developing this idea, so both positive and negative comments are necessary to chisel away the concept into the most effective proposal possible. Thank you for taking the time to read about Splinterlands Delegation Packs.

If you do like this idea please vote for it here https://feedback.splinterlands.com/535.
