Intro

Hello everyone this will be my Intro to this week's Battle Challenges [PS:You can join here]. I hope I can share some of my thoughts and take on this monster that may increase your knowledge and improve your battle strategy. Shadow Snitch is one of the starter cards from Chaos Legion Edition, which serves as an alternative from the previous melee reach monster Spineback Wolf. My current battle is quite unique unlike my previous edition because I tried to play and experiment in Gold League. So you can enjoy my breakdown below.

Shadow Snitches are created by the conjurers of the Chaos Legion. Weaving Death magic, they breathe life into beings made completely of darkness. The purpose of the Shadow Snitches is to be deployed into lands prior to the Chaos Legion's invasion. Moving from shadow to shadow, they are listeners and watchers, feeding information back to the Chaos Legion.
But once the invasion is complete, the Shadow Snitches still serve a purpose. They can locate and follow high-value targets, reporting back on movements to Chaos Legion leadership. If needed, Shadow Snitches can also capture prisoners and bring them back for interrogation.

Shadow Snitch in my opinion is quite a good card. Its best potential is at Level 6 meaning it's best used in Gold League. Overall Reach ability is quite good and with additional affliction ability, it might help in facing enemy with high sustainability or healing focused enemy. It might be good in reverse speed condition too because its slow speed. Right now its price is quite cheap either you can buy it to accumulate if you want to play in Gold League or rent it.

Lineup

image.png

UnitLvlAttackAblityReason for using
Thadius Brood6--1 Magic and HPFor Debuff and Anti Magic for Enemy
Cursed Windeku1MeleeHeal , ThornsAs tanker with healing and thorns , killing melee attackers
Shadow Snitch8MeleeReach , AfflictionAttacking frontline unit and as protection from enemy with high sustain
Silent Sha-Vi8MeleeSneak and CrippleTo get enemy backline , with high damage and skills

Im using this lineup because my enemy liked to use Melee unit, and also with low manacap . I think this setup is pretty good and quite tanky as well against magic attack so i use balanced lineup approach.

Battle Sequence

Battle Link

image.png

In the Battle start, Thadius Brood already used its debuff on the enemy resulting in lower health. But Demented Shark also buffs its allies with Inspire +1 Melee. There are no magic units from my enemy so its should be safe for me.

image.png

Shadow Snitch managed to bring down Furious Chicken Bringing Demented Shark to frontline. But Enemy Deeplurker and Sabre Shark has taken down my Serpent Sha-Vi

image.png
Cursed Windeku still stands strong giving thorns damage and healing itself back to its prime condition. Shadow Snitch managed to bring down Sabre Shark. Leaving Deeplurker on its own.

And Voila! Say Deeplurker got owned by thorns and finally I got the Win. GG for the Both teams

Strategy Discussion

  • Its Important to bring good Tanker in the front and i Think Cursed Windeku is a good choice and cheap ones at current condition
  • Thadius Brood is effective summoner with its debuff and antimagic nerf. Helping Tankers without Void to survive magic attack
  • Using Unit with Reach like Shadow Snitch might help a lot to focus damage to frontline unit (preferably if enemy is not to tanky u can use this focused damaged)
  • Serpent Shavi Helps a lot with its sneak and High stats
  • All cards used are from this edition Chaos Legion currently it got cheap price and has a lot of functionality that people need to realize it might be a good investment for the future

Did you Like Shadow Snitch?

I think it is good monster card in my opinion with slight pros and cons against its rival Spineback Wolf. Both cards have its own use case in specific rules and have different power spike and optimal use in League players play. In Silver i think you can use wolf. But in Gold League Shadow Snitch Affliction is Godly and useful and also cheaper by 1 Manacap.

You can also try other monsters with Reach based on the breakdown above and you can feel and get a grasp on your own. Because in higher league there are many plays that include buffs and debuffs so its important for us as a player to play flexible and always know the maximal potential and use case for each card. So Big Yes for Shadow Snitch
