Should Splinterlands' Riftwatchers Pack Sale have a deadline?

The latest Splinterlands DAO proposal by @yabapmatt.sps is calling for the taking out of 15,000 Riftwatchers (RW) packs from the available sale pool daily until the set is sold out. The proposal seeks to burn 13,500 (90%) of the 15k RW packs while the remaining 1,500 (10%) would go to the @sps.dao account as reserve for future sell or promotional use.

According to @yabapmatt.sps, it will take 130 days (that is 4 months and 10 days) for the nearly 2 million RW packs to be out of supply assuming there is no more sale and the proposal is approved. However, if players are buying RW packs, it should sell out earlier than that.

This should highly incentivize players to begin purchasing packs at a much faster rate leading up to the airdrops and to the set selling out...This will, in turn, drive more DEC spending, more revenue to the DAO, and potentially higher secondary market prices for Riftwatchers cards and packs once they are sold out - especially when paired with the upcoming release of card staking on land. This strategy was adopted for Chaos Legion set of cards and they sold out like wild fire. It is hoped could also work favourably for RW cards set. There are Splinterlands players with contrary view to the proposal especially that if RW cards sellout, the team would start minting the next cards set which comes in with FOMO.
