Using Chaos Knight Defenses to Win More Games!

Hello everyone! Let's talk about Chaos Knight in Splinterlands for this week's "Share Your Battle"! Follow along for the break down of this battle and hopefully you can use the Chaos Knight to win matches in Splinterlands as well!

Untitled.png

Chaos Knight Strengths

  • The shield ability is a great counter to range or melee damage.
  • As a tank that only costs 6 mana, you can put it in lower to mid mana matches.
  • Rulesets like Equaliser, Melee Mayhem, Super Sneak and Lost Magic.

Chaos Knight Weaknesses

  • Low health leaves it vulnerable to magic
  • Slow and low damage at level 1 means it's mostly good as a tank but not a damage dealer.

Time to BATTLE!

The Setup

Rule Set → → → image.png

  • Equaliser - This ruleset means all of our monsters have equal health. The strategy here to is put strong low hp monsters that will benefit greatly from a higher hp.
  • Close Range - Range monsters can attack in first place means we can be more confident to use General Sloan on the life team as all our range monsters will still be able to attack if they fall in front.
  • 27 Mana - Chaos Knight is a great tank with shield, especially with the extra health. That leaves us with 17 other mana to put our team together.

Placing Chaos Knight In Our Team

image.png

  • I Place Chaos Knight in front with shield so that it can absorb a lot of damage.
  • Using General Sloan we now load up on range damage with the Arbalest, Herbalist and Crystalsmith.
  • Crystalsmith will also give us lot's of healing as Equaliser makes everyone have more health on our team.
  • Time Mage will slow down the other team and make sure our slow life monsters still get hits off.

Let the Battle Begin!

image.png

  • Unfortunately our opponent picks Obsidian which Chaos Knight is weak against with all the magic damage.
  • They did pick Unicorn Mustang which means all of our monsters now have 10 HP thanks to Equaliser.
  • Even though our Chaos Knight is weak to magic, our healing from Crystalsmith will help keep them alive.

Round 2... Fight!

image.png

  • The damage from our Arbalest, Crystalsmith and Chaos Knight kills their Unicorn tank in round 1.
  • Our tank Chaos Knight has taken a lot of damage but the Crystalsmith heals can keep it alive a little while longer.

Untitled.png

Round 3 Keep the Damage Coming!

image.png

  • In round 2 we had enough damage to shred through the Morphoid
  • Our Chaos Knight took a big hit of magic damage and won't survive the next round. Luckily our Gargoya Scraper with 10 hp from Equaliser will still be a decent tank next up. As long as we don't have too many misses against the Regal Pertyon, we will be fine.

Untitled.png

Round 4 We Need to Clutch!

image.png

  • The enemy team still have 7 magic damage which we will only heal 3 hp from.
  • They enemy while down to only 3 monsters now has the Regal Peryton as their tank. With flying a 4 speed, most of our monsters will have a 45% chance of missing.

Untitled.png

Oh No! Not Looking Good!

image.png

  • Our Arbalest and Herbalist missed all of their shots and now their Peryton is again at 7 health.
  • If our Crystalsmith falls into first before our team kills of the Pertyon, we will be in trouble. We can't have another round of big misses.

Untitled.png

And the Winner Is!...

image.png

  • Our team hits all their shots this time! The Regal Peryton is wiped off the board and from here it's a formality to victory. They can't dodge any shots with 1 speed and we have enough damage and healing to finish them off.

Thanks for following along the breakdown of this battle! I hope the Chaos Knight can bring more wins to your matches!
