Ladies.png

Hi Ladies of Hive Community! 👧

I wish everyone is doing well and stay healthy 😇

This is my first post in @ladiesofhive Community. The themes for this week contest are :

  1. What funny ways you use to remember useful bits of information?
    and / or
  2. Spices and herbs are often used for medicinal purposes

Alright, since we had an outbreak of Corona Virus since 2019 until 2022, I would like to share my experience when I tested being positive for Covid-19 and suffered flu for 2 weeks and the recovered after regularly consuming three kind of herbs. What are they? Well, as we can see in the title of this article, they are Red Ginger, Turmeric and Curcuma. Have you ever heard any of theses herbs in your country? I lived in Indonesia and I've found lots of these herbs either in Traditional market or Supermarket. If you haven't heard any of these herbs, here are the picture of them :

Turmeric and Curcuma looks similar but definitely they are different. First, both have different Latin name. Second, Curcuma is bigger in size than turmeric. We can also differentiate both herbs from the color, taste and aroma. However, The scientist have made some research (based on the screening results of the activities of hundreds of proteins and thousands of herbal compounds related to the mechanism of action of the SARS-CoV-2 virus) and they found out that all of these herbs (Red Ginger, Turmeric and Curcuma) have several compounds that have the potential to inhibit and prevent the corona virus. For Instance, Hesperidin, Rhamnetin, Kaempferol, Quercetin, dan Myricetin.

Based on the result of that research, I went to Supermarket every day to buy 1 Kg od each Red Ginger, Turmeric and Curcuma (enough stock for a week). Then What I did is grated them using grater and then blend them with 200 mL of Hot Water (Without any sugar). I drank the mix of ginger, curcuma and turmeric after having breakfast, lunch and dinner so it was 3 times a day and then took some rest on my bed.

At the first 3 days when I was diagnosed with Covid-19. I felt pain in my chest, I was thinking, it was the activity of Virus in my body. However I won't give up, I have my mom and my sister to take care after my dad passed away last year. So I have to recover from this disease, consume herbs regularly and take enough rest. I am glad that in the next week, the pain was gradually subsided and I think my body has built such an immune against covid virus thanks to the herbs that I consumed 3 times a day.

If I were asked, what's my favorites herbs among those three, I would say Curcuma is the best, because it has the most delicious taste. I can drink lots of grated curcuma with hot water and without any sugar. It feels good and make my body warmer.

Well, I think that's my story about how I have survived from Corona Virus after consuming grated Curcuma, Turmeric and Red Ginger. We need to do some research first before consuming any food or drink to make sure that they are safe and healthy to our body. I hope you are all stay healthy guys because healthy is expensive, please take care of yourself properly ♥️.

I've seen ginger, but don't think I've seen the red ginger. Turmeric is readily available and I suspect the other one, curcuma might be available in health food stores. I know ginger and turmeric all have many benefits and it would seem the other falls in the same categories as well. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day!🤗💜 !LADY

You survived the Coronavirus. That's a really good recipe. We have ginger (never seen the red one hut I'm sure it's somewhere here) and Tumeric (we use it to cook). Haven't seen Curcuma and I am hearing about it for the first time.

I know fresh ginger slices boiled in water or with a tea make for a good refreshing drink. Curcum/Tumeric are great dietary support for my roommate who is fighting Cancer but her appetite is not good. She is currently in treatment but I like to always try natural dietary support to help her treatment.
❤️ Thanks @wulanzhang

Curcuma is a very good herb, sadly I am allergic to it :-(
Red Ginger I do not use much in my kitchen, the turmeric is what I use daily.
Thanx for sharing these tips.

Oh, this is the first time I heard someone allergic to herbs, but as long as you can consume another herb you'll be good and stay healthy
