Time for the BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge.

To spice up weakly battle challenge splinterlands came up with idea of BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge. BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge will allows players to showcase their strategic skills through their line up in battle field in variety of battle rulesets.

So theme for this week's BATTLE MAGE SECRETS challenge is Briar Patch ruleset. Briar Patch ruleset gives all the monsters in battlefield Thorns ability. Thereby it effectively tries to discourage the use of melee attack in battlefield. Moreover the value of Reflection Shield monsters increases even more since they effectively are immune to Thorns damage.

How to Play

Like I said earlier Briar Patch ruleset effectively discourages the use of melee attack monsters, moreover it does encourages the use of Reflection Shield monsters. Since chance of melee attack in Briar Patch are minimal so one must use summoners and monsters keeping in mind magic and ranged attack based battle. So summoners like Lir, Grandmaster Rathe, Owster Rotwell, Ilthain are more preferred.

MY BATTLE WITH ARMOR UP RULESET

This was a 49 mana battle with three battle rules; Lost Magic, Briar Patch and Armored Up. Earth, Life and Death splinters were allowed.

MY LINEUP

ILTHAIN

Since Briar Patch and Thorns ruleset was in play so chances of ranged attack were extremely high, therefore I went with ILTHAIN summoner to counter the ranged attack. ILTHAIN is indeed one of its kind especially when dealing with Ranged attacks.

SHIELDBEARER

Up front I went SHIELDBEARER as a tank since no magic attack was in play. Also SHIELDBEARER's Taunt and Shield abilities make it perfect for situations where magic attack is not a threat.

CORSAIR BOSUN

On one down I used CORSAIR BOSUN. CORSAIR BOSUN's Reach ability along with Cleanse and Reflection Shield makes it a perfect monster for one down position.

RUNI

Next I used my RUNI core to introduce some Opportunity in the battle field. RUNI's Reflection Shield makes it perfect for Briar Patch ruleset.

VENARI CRYSTALSMITH

Next is placed VENARI CRYSTALSMITH as a healer to my tank. Healer's job is always critical especially if Taunt tank is in play.

LONE BOATMAN

On the second last position, I was LONE BOATMAN. LONE BOATMAN's main take away is it Shield Repair ability along with Snipe ranged attack. Again Shield Repair is critical in prevailing battle rulesets.

WARRIOR OF PEACE

On the last position, I used WARRIOR OF PEACE in a bid to hamper enemy ranged and melee attack. WARRIOR OF PEACE is one of the best no attacks of its kind helping tackle all kind of attacks.

BATTLE ANALYSIS

The battle was simple enough due to my choice of summoner. ILTHAIN had no match in this ruleset. Enemy ranged attack scrummed to Return Fire, whereas melee attack monsters were too easy to kill. All in all that was an easy battle.
