Hello Splinternerds

Time for the BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge.

To spice up weakly battle challenge splinterlands came up with idea of BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge. BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge will allows players to showcase their strategic skills through their line up in battle field in variety of battle rulesets.

So theme for this week's BATTLE MAGE SECRETS challenge is Counterspell ruleset. Counterspell ruleset means all monsters gets the Magic Reflect ability.

How to Play

Since Counterspell ruleset gives all monsters in battlefield Magic Reflect ability so Magic attack monsters are discouraged in the lineup as they will suffer. This could mean that Ranged and Melee attack monsters are more preferred and one can certainly deploy summoner and monsters keeping in mind saturated melee and ranged attack.

Abilities like Shield, Return Fire, Thrones, Shield Repair, Demoralize, Headwinds and Protect become of great value in this ruleset.

Suited summoners in Counterspell ruleset are YODIN ZAKU, LIR DEEPSWIMMER, KELYA FRENDUL, WIZARD OF EASTWOOD, CHANSEUS THE GREAT, THE PEAKRIDER, GRANDMASTER RATHE, ILTHAIN, GENERAL SLOAN, TYRUS PALADIUM, MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE, ASTRAL ENTITY, CONTESSA L'AMENT, SELENIA SKY and QUIX THE DEVIOUS.

MY BATTLE WITH Counterspell RULESET

This was a 18 mana battle with two battle rules; Counterspell and Silenced Summoners. All splinters were allowed except Water and Dragon.

MY LINEUP

TYRUS PALADIUM

Since Silenced Summoners ruleset was in play so it didn't matter which summoner I used; only splinter mattered. Since battle mana was low so I had to stick with low mana monsters and Life splinter offers some very nice low mana monsters. Therefore I choose to play with TYRUS PALADIUM.

PELACOR CONJURER

Up front I went with one of the best low mana tank in Life splinter, PELACOR CONJURER. Look at its stats like health & speed. This guy is perfect for most of the battle rulesets especially in mana crunch situations.

URAEUS

On one down I used the low mana sneak option URAEUS. This might be one of the best low mana sneak attack monsters out there especially due to its Poison ability.

GELATINOUS CUBE

Next I used a no attack, GELATINOUS CUBE. GELATINOUS CUBE is one of the best tanks out there and once it gets going even the most fierce legendries can't handle it.

SOUL FIEND

Next is the turn to use my zero mana monsters. First I place SOUL FIEND. Costing nothing this guys offers Swiftness ability and in turn might help my tank and even if she dies it will feed my Cube.

FURIOUS CHICKEN

On the second last position, I used another zero mana monster FURIOUS CHICKEN. Again this will fill up the slot providing sneak & opportunity protection and feed Cube upon death.

DOCTOR BLIGHT

On the last position, I used one of the my most favorite legendary monster, DOCTOR BLIGHT. Ever since it was introduced I became fan of this guy and now usually is a part and parcel of most of my battle formations. Although Counterspell was in play still I used DOCTOR BLIGHT as I was sure Scavenger ability will be enough to keep this guy alive much longer.

BATTLE ANALYSIS

The battle went as planned. Enemy used ranged snipe attack got absorbed by the GELATINOUS CUBE. My URAEUS and DOCTOR BLIGHT did the job of killing out enemy pretty well. Enemy mistake was relying only on ranged attack.

That will be all for today.
