Time for the BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge.

To spice up weakly battle challenge splinterlands came up with idea of BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge. BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge will allows players to showcase their strategic skills through their line up in battle field in variety of battle rulesets.

So theme for this week's BATTLE MAGE SECRETS challenge is Fire & Regret ruleset. Fire & Regret ruleset means all units one the battle field get Return Fire ability meaning ranged attack monsters get punished.

How to Play

Since in Fire & Regret ruleset all monsters get Return Fire ability so its best to avoid using ranged attack monsters at all except if they have Reflection Shield ability or if there is no other choice. Overall melee and magic attack monsters are the most suited choices.
All other abilities work the same way as they would in normal battles.

From a defensive point of view, prepare for a heavy melee and magic attack assault by using Thorns and Magic Reflect monsters. Using Amplify ability is also recommended.

Moreover prefer abilities like Void, Shield, Void Armor and Shield Repair.

Suited Summoners

The best suited summoner for Fire & Regret are GRANDMASTER RATHE, MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE, MYLOR CROWLING and IMMORTALIS

MY BATTLE With Fire & Regret Ruleset

This was a 51 mana battle with three battle rules; Equalizer, Aim True and Fire & Regret. All splinters were allowed except Dragon.

MY LINEUP

ALRIC STORMBRINGER

Due to Fire & Regret ruleset I decided to go with full on magic attack and since dragon summoner was not allowed so I went with ALRIC STORMBRINGER.

THE KRAKEN

Upfront, I my favorite water splinter tank THE KRAKEN. Although costing high in mana this guy is loaded with awesome abilities like Taunt, Demoralize, Fury and Retaliate; plus it does have heavy health and reasonable shield.

KELP INITIATE

On one down I positioned KELP INITIATE. KELP INITIATE is the one of the most mana efficient cleanse guy out there. I need to max this guy out.

RULER OF THE SEAS

Next, I placed the one of the best magic attack legendary RULER OF THE SEAS. Decent magic attack along with abilities like Blast, Swiftness and Silence, what's not to like.

PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS

Next is placed another magic attack monster; PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS. Apart from heavy magic attack, PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS offers Demoralize ability and this guy is pretty hard to hit.

MERDAALI GUARDIAN

On the second last position, I placed the healer; MERDAALI GUARDIAN. This guy is indeed one of the best since it offers one plus in the form of Shield Repair.

NERISSA TRIDAWN

On the last position, I used one of the strongest magic attack guy out there NERISSA TRIDAWN. The thing about NERISSA TRIDAWN I like is, she is all about blunt magic attack which can come in handy under certain rulesets.

BATTLE ANALYSIS

The battle went as planned. Going with heavy magic was a nice ploy after all. Enemy defensive strategy was not effective at all against full on magic assault. Moreover that Demoralize did help a lot.
