ZYRIEL Public Mint: How is it Going?

The public mint of ZYRIAL have been going on for around 12 days now and so far out of 15,000 ZYRIEL available only 4,343 ZYRIEL have been minted. That is a poor sale response in every way if you ask me.

At the current market price of dec and vouchers, one bcx ZYRIAL costs around $47 making maxed one around $520. ZYRIAL is an average or may be above average legendary and this price doesn't justify its worth.

Lets dive in some of the factors that might have contributed towards ZYRIAL sale or might have dissuade the public:

• Many Splinterlands collectors folk have a compulsion of collecting things being thrown at the no matter if there is a gaming value attached to that asset or not. So despite ZYRIAL being an above average legendary many of ZYRIALs are bought by the collectors without keeping the economics in mind.

• And then there is the Gold Club. Gold Club people will certainly must have their gold foil ZYRIAL copy so they must have bought ZYRIALs in batches of 25 in order to get the guaranteed gold foil and dump the remaining normal foils in the market. As of now single bcx ZYRIAL costs around $210 in market and normal bcx is around $37.

• Apart from the small collectors and gold club not many people are interested in paying heft mint price for ZYRIAL especially since it is not a game breaker card. So many who still need ZYRIAL are preferring secondary market to enjoy the discount.

• ZYRIAL is a hefty legendary and its not like other promos introduced before where general pubic could just take a peak and buy small quantities. The way I see ZYRIAL, only those who are want and afford a maxed ZYRIAL are going for it and rest of the lot are just bystanders.

• Many people believe ZYRIAL is WAKA 2.0 and once people realize the real worth of ZYRIAL in battle field the price will plummet eventually just like WAKA. So they are just waiting patiently to let the fomo settle.

My Expectations

Well as of now, I don't see all of 15K ZYRIALs getting minted. In initial fomo days only less than 5K ZYRIALs got minted and now the things are cooling down. Most of the interested parties have already made their move and if we stretch it out we might reach 10K ZYRIAL mint in the end.

Final Thoughts

ZYRIAL sale is a food for thought for SL team. May be next time instead of putting up a monster up for mint at ridiculous price they could have a proposal about mint cost. And yes the DAO proposal system needs modifications too, but that a topic for other day.
