Please note that unlike Chaos Legion packs, EVERY Riftwatchers pack will require a VOUCHER token to purchase, both during the presale phase and afterwards.
Riftwatchers cards are going to be a must-have for the higher mana cap battles, and we look forward to players having many more options to choose from in those situations!
The game is already very hard enough. Now you make it even more hard. Nice job. It is also a good business tactic. Forcing players to buy both Vouchers and Riftwatchers card packs.

And I write this as a relatively old Splinterlands player, who was very satisfied with Splinterlands in the past. I started playing it on 2018.12.30. Splinterlands used to be one of my favorite games. Nowadays it is rather a business than a game.
The final purpose of every game is to make good business with it.
I agreed with you that the game is more likely a business than a game.
And it's also a chance for everyone to make some profit with it.
Now, if I see this game as an investment angel, it's worth investing in several ways to get the nice APR without playing the game :)
