Splinterlands (the gameplay and the lore) is somewhat helping in this difficult situation (2022.08.16)

So not in the rewards, because that is shit. But the fun factor. The gameplay itself. And the lore too. But first I will write about the season focus chests. I reached the Silver III League in the previous season, and I earned 22 season focus chests.

The sea of potions, and a few Dark Energy Crystals (DEC). I would say that this is upsetting, but currently I have a much bigger problem. I am on the edge of becoming homeless (again). I still have not found a rent. Looks like I will really end up living in a car. I watched and I still watch YouTube videos about people living like that. I am trying not to be upset or afraid about it. Some people are even enjoying living in a car. Maybe I will also enjoy it. Who knows.

I really tried to get a rent. I asked many people, but all of them refused because of my Harris's hawk. So I still do not know what will happen, but I will keep playing Splinterlands. At least in the near future. In the upcoming few weeks. If I will live in a car, then probably I will keep playing Splinterlands later too. We will see.

Maybe I will sell some (or all) of the Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) to take out some profits. Splinterlands really does not motivate/encourage me to invest it back. Probably I will sell it, and I will invest it in Hive Dollars (HBD) savings. That will help in long term. Especially if I will live in a car. Every little bit will count in that case, because I will lose my four hours per day packaging part time job in that case, and only my pension-like income will remain, which is approximately only $250 USD per month. So honestly speaking, I will live in deep poverty. It will be enough to live a basic life in a car, so I am not worried about that.

But now I really write about the season focus chests. So out of the 22 season focus chests, the game gave me only four cards. The daily focus chests are similar. Out of six focus chests, the game gave me two cards. And all of the cards are well known. The most common cards. Both in the case of the season end rewards and in the case of the daily focus chests too.

So it is not worth it to play it for the rewards. Play it for fun. I played 336 battles in the previous season, and I won 167 battles, so my win rate was 49.70% in the previous season. This is not really good, but it was still fun. And I was near the top 5000 players in the Silver League.

I do not say that it helped that much actually. But at least it helped and it helps to escape from the harsh and hard reality at least a little bit. It provides a fantasy world. Some of its parts are like a good book. For example recently I started reading the lore of various cards, and some of them have a very good, very well detailed lore. For example the Wave Brood. As if it would be a part of a good fantasy book. I really enjoyed reading it.

To be honest, I would really love to read a Splinterlands book. I mean a real book. Maybe even a book series. A good writer could easily do that. And there would be a successful (either paperback or hardcover, or both) Splinterlands book(s) in the book stores.

Either way, good luck and have fun, if you play Splinterlands.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

I agree that the rewards have been kind of lacking lately but I play it because it's fun and growth is growth.

I also play Splinterlands for fun. To pass time. To at least somewhat forget (escape from) the injustice and the cruelty of the reality. Similarly to League of Legends. There is no other way. The rewards are jokes.

If we focus on its fun, enjoyable, entertaining side, then it is not a complete time wasting.
