Today I burned 25 Splinterlands cards ($0.25 USD value?) (2022.11.02)

A little Splinterlands card burning.

I burned four Pelacor Mercenary cards.
I burned four Venari Heatsmith cards.
I burned four Pelacor Deceiver cards.
I burned two Blood Maker cards.
I burned two Pelacor Bandit cards.
I burned four Gargoya Lion cards.
I burned five Pelacor Conjurer cards.

Currently each of these cards are worth $0.01 USD, so theoretically today I burned $0.25 USD value.

Am I? Are they really worth $0.01 USD each?

I have not even made these cards more scarce by doing this, because Splinterlands is constantly printing them, and they currently have more than one million circulating supply.

Splinterlands gave me 5 Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) per card (125 DEC in total). This is $0.005 USD per card ($0.125 USD in total), if 1 DEC is $0.001 USD, but of course the burn value is much less than what the cards are sold for on the market.

Either way, I know that I did not made any difference (in the prices of these cards) with this little burning. I would need to burn hundreds of thousands (maybe half a million) from each of these cards to have a real effect on their price.

How do you see the value of these cards? What do you think about them? What do you think about Splinterlands card burning?

And what would you do with the 125 Dark Energy Crystals (DEC)?

I didn't burn any cards yet. Why did you burn them?

It is nearly impossible to sell these cards nowadays. Maybe combining and leasing them out would have been better. If there is enough demand for them. But probably the supply is currently much higher than the demand. There are literally more than 1 million from these cards. Some of them nowadays has a circulating supply of nearly two million cards.

Yes, that's what I am doing. Levelling them up for those very common cards

I would just keep the cards. It just doesn't seem worth the 5 DEC you get and it isn't much you can do with that DEC. At least when these cards go out of print, they might have a chance to give a larger return.

Maybe recently I became too disappointed in Splinterlands, but who knows what will happen years later to this game. It already lost a lot of players because the rewards became very low, and the difficulty is very hard. I still combined a few other cards. We will see.

Hey burning small quantities have no impact on price action, you should have gone for bundle sale on peakmonsters, I think that way you would have earned much more than 125 DEC.

Every card is backed up by a certain amount of Dark Energy Crystals (DEC). This is their burn value.
