Hello everyone, this is my entry to the splinterlands battle mage secrets challenge for this week. I will be sharing one of my battles. For this battle, I used my account @yahuzah which is my spl account for this battle.

Summoner chosen

For this battle, I selected the Kelya Frendul who is a water summoner. Kelya adds +1 shield and +1 speed to all friendly monsters. I opted for Kelya Frensul summoner because magic attack monsters were unavailable and melee and ranged monsters attack shield first.

Battle Tactics

I always do well to check the regular battle history for battles and I did it as well this time. However, it didn't prove very helpful because of the rulesets.

Due to the thorns ability, I wanted to stay away from melee attack monsters as much as possible. And so, for my first position, I selected Olundin Overseer who has a shield of 5 and health of 12. It also gives the second monster on the team the reach ability.

With the selection of Olundin Overseer in first, I selected Sea Wreck to be in second position. It is a melee bloodlust attacking monster with a melee of 3, shield of 4 and health of 12. Though thorns was one of the rulesets, I thought the stats and the bloodlusts would cater for the thorns effect.

Because I wanted to avoid melee monsters, the only other option was to go for ranged monsters and so for the rest of my team, I decided to select ranged attack monsters. In third position, I selected Axe Master. Looking back the positioning was not right but I thinking Axe master attacking twice made up for it.

It's always nice to have a healer in your team so for the fourth position of my team, I went with Merdaali Guardian to restore a portion of the health of my monster in first position.

Coastal Nymph with an attack of 3 ranged attack, 7 health and 2 shield was selected for the first position.

In the last position, I selected Gargoya Devil. Gargoya Devil has the ability of attacking in the first position as well.

Battle Details

Summoner and unit buffs took effect and the battle began.

The summoner choice from me proved to be very effective as well as the positioning of my monsters. Attacks were rendered from both teams and almost at the end of round 1, I killed my enemy's third monster who also happened to be the healer.

At the start of round 2, I killed my enemy's fifth monster, Gargoya Scrapper.

image.png

As round 2 continued, my enemy killed my last monster and I killed his fourth monster.

image.png

At the start of round 3, I killed my enemy's first monster, Shieldbearer and my enemy killed my Merdaali Guardian. At the end of round 3, I killed my enemy's second monster leaving him with only 1.

image.png

At the end of round 4, I defeated my enemy.

image.png

I defeated my enemy in 4 rounds with 3 of my monsters remaining.
