Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge - Counterspell

Hello everyone, this is my entry to the splinterlands battle mage secrets challenge for this week. I will be describing one of my battles. I used my account @yahuzah which is my spl account for all battles.

Battle Ruleset

Ruleset Icon	Description
	Counterspell:All monsters have the magic reflect ability

The counterspell ruleset means that when you attack with a magic monsters, you get a returned halved damage done to you.

For this battle, I chose the Malric Inferno summoner to grant all my monsters +melee. I opted to use melee monsters because it's not advisable to use magic monsters with the counterspell ruleset unless you have lots of void monsters.

Battle Tactics

Considering how small the total battle mana was, I guessed my enemy wouldn't bring crazy monsters with high stats hence my team selection.

In first position, I selected Grum Flameblade because his stats are just something to admire. In addition to the +1 melee from the summoner, Grum had a melee attack of 5, health of 10, shield of 5 and speed of 1.

I selected Scorch Fiend in second position. Grum and my summoner used up all the battle mana and so I went with Sorch Fiend just to ensure that if my enemy brought sneak monsters, it would take the damage.

Battle Details

Summoner and unit buffs took effect and the battle began. Immediately I saw the battle, I was excited cos it seemed my tactics were spot on. All I was hoping for was that my enemy's monsters had no dodge abilites.

At the start of the first round, my enemy's fifth monster killed my second monster. The second and third monsters on my enemy's team attacked Grum's shield reducing it to 2.

Grum killed my enemy's first monster and gained +1 in all stats. My enemy's new first monsters attacked my Grum to end the first round.

In round 2, my enemy's second and fourth attacked my Grum. Grum then killed my enemy's new first monster, Fungus Fiend and gained +1 stats.

In round 3, my enemy's acid shooter attacked me and I killed Venari Scout and bloodlusted gaining +1 stats.

In round 4, Grum attacked my enemy's Ureaus destroying the shield. My enemy attacked with acid shooter and Ureaus reducing my health to 9.

At the start of round 5, Grum killed my enemy's Ureaus and bloodlusted.

In round 6, Grum killed my enemy's acid shooter and gained +1 stats. At this point, Grum had an attack of 10 melee. Mycelic Morphid, the remaining monster on my enemy's team missed its attack on Grum to end round 6.

In the final round, Grum killed my enemy's last monster.
