Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge - Lost Legendaries

Hello warriors of spl, this is my entry to the splinterlands weekly secret battle mage challenges. I will be sharing with you one of my battles. Stick around to see if I was able to beat my enemy or if I got brutally punished.
For this particular battle, I used my account @yahuzah which of course is my designated spl account.

Summoner chosen:

For this battle, I pick the Mylor Crowling summoner since I wanted to take advantage of the thorns ability. I expected my enemy would bring melee attack monsters and that could give me an edge but little did I know he had a trick up his sleeve.

I picked Unicorn Mustang to lead my team to the battlefield and at first glance, I thought that was good enough. However, my enemy had a Unicorn Mustang but wasn’t in the first position and that got me thinking.

monsters in position for the battle

We both had the thorns summoner, Mylor Crowling so upon clicking on rumble, there were no added and subtracted stats to any of the monsters.

I attacked first with Regal Peryton and did a damage of -1 health with my magic attack to my enemy’s first monster, Vampire Bat. My Unicorn Mustang attacked the same monster but missed the attack. Vampire Bat from my enemy’s line up attacked my Unicorn Mustang and a damage of -1 health but died because my monster did thorns damage back to him. This ended round 1.

Regal Peryton attacked first again but this time to the new number one monster, Fungus Flinger rendering a damage of -1 health. My Unicorn Mustang attacked next with a damage of -3 melee and killed my enemy’s monster but surviving the thorns damage of -2 health done back.
My enemy’s last card Unicorn Mustang then stepped into the first position. The death of my enemy’s Fungus Flinger gave my enemy’s last card +1 stats. Speed, health and melee attacked all increased by 1.

+1 stats on my enemy’s Unicorn Mustang
My enemy then attacked my first monster rendering a damage of -4 health and surviving a thorns damage of -2 health. This ended the second round.

Regal Peryton attacked my enemy’s Unicorn Mustang but missed. This then enabled my enemy to attacked my Unicorn Mustang and killed it. This ended round 3.

After the death of my Unicorn Mustang, **Regal Peryton became the first monster. Regal Peryton attacked first and missed just like in the previous round. My enemy attacked with a damage of -4 melee and reduced my monster’s health to 2. Regal did manage to do a -2 thorns damage to my enemy. This concluded round 4.

Regal Peryton missed an attack yet again and my enemy was able to kill my monster with his attack. With the thorns damage rendered back, my enemy was left with a health of 3 and I was left with my last card, Mycelin Morphid.
Mycelin Morphid attacked my enemy but did a damage of -1 health and had a return damage of -2 health. This killed my only monster remaining giving victory to my enemy.

The battle ended after 5 rounds but I must say although I lost, I learned something from the lineup my opponent brought. It is good to use the Fungus Flinger. If not for that monster in my enemy’s lineup, I probably would have won.
Nonetheless, I am still bitter over this loss😅.
