Splinterlands Battle Mage Weekly Secrets Challenge - Rise of the Commons

Hello everyone, this is my entry to the splinterlands battle mage secrets challenge for this week. I will be sharing one of my battles. For this battle, I used my account @yahuzah which is my spl account.

For this battle, I went with the Obsidian Summoner. My Obsidian summoner is of a high level which gives my first unit an additional melee attack. I also wanted to use magic attack monsters and get the +1 magic attacks.

1st Position

For the first position in my lineup, I decided to select Terraceous Grunt. Terraceous Grunt has the dodge ability so I hoped my enemy would bring ranged and melee attacked units.

Battle Tactics

I always try to look at my enemy's battle history before a battle. It made me realize my enemy likes to use monsters who have ranged and melee attacks. That was why I decided to opt for the Obsidian so I can get Terraceous Grunt at a melee of 2 and take advantage of the dodge ability.

I then decided to pick a unit who will also be able to evade evade attacks in the last position. Because usually people who like to use melee units use those who attack the last monsters on the opponent's team. I decided to use Regal Peryton who can attack regardless of position and also evade attacks from melee and ranged monsters who do not have the flying ability.

I also decided to use Goblin Psychic who would be able to heal Teraaceous Grunt. The total mana for the battle was 21 so I hoped these 3 monsters on my team would be okay. I put Goblin Psychic in second position.

Battle Details

Summoner and unit buffs took effect and the battle began.

The summoner choice from me proved to be very useful as well as the positioning of my monsters. My enemy ended up bringing monsters who attacked my last monster.

Goballano soldier, with his ambush ability attacked my last monster even before the battle began but missed.

As the battle continued, attacks were rendered from both teams and it wasn't until the end of the second round that I killed my enemy's first monster.

In the middle of round 3, I killed my enemy's Goballano soldier. At this point I had killed 2 of my enemy's monsters but still had all mine intact.

At the end of round 4 I killed the 3 monster on my enemy's team leaving only 1. This just ended up as an easy ride because the monster remaining was the ranged attack monster, Pyrewatch Devil who did no attacks. I killed my enemy in round 5.

I defeated my enemy in 5 rounds losing none of my monsters in battle.
