Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - A Disappointing End to An Amazing Season

Hello everyone, this is my entry to the splinterlands social media challenge for this week. Unlike my other social media interests where I have shared some of my epic battles, I will be sharing some thoughts to the just ended splinterlands season.

A new season has already began after one ended on Friday if I am not mistaken. The just ended season started on the right note for me. I started in the silver two for the wild league and after playing for almost the entirety of the season, I managed to get into gold 2. I got very close to get into gold one but unfortunately, my enemies got the better of me and I lost battles.

This season made me utilise more of the other elements and not just earth. I am quite good and comfortable using the earth element but what the just ended season helped with is that it limited my use of the earth element. I was forced to play a lot of battles without it which made me realize how little I use the water, fire and especially the life elements.

It was a good season for me because I discovered some interesting tactics which I aim to use in my future battles. I got into gold earlier then expected and that was one of the reasons I was looking forward to an amazing end to the season.

However, things took turn for the worst when on the 14th of March which was Thursday, internet connectivity in my country, Ghana was lost. When it started, I was using one of the main networks and couldn’t gain access into the social media apps.

Naturally, I thought it was Vodafone’s problem but after I tried MTN, I realized it was not just their problem. I hoped the problem would be solved that day but the issue persisted till today. As at the time of writing, some connectivity has been restored which is now I can access hive but not all of its dApps.

The service providers anticipate full internet connectivity will be restored in about 5 weeks time which if I’m being honest, I’d a very long time to not have internet.

So, this is what contributed to me not playing splinterlands since 14th and not ending the season in the way I had hoped. Before the internet problems, I was knocked back down to gold 3 but I was certain I would make it to gold 1 by 15th.

I had earned 40+ silver and gold chests and I think about 9 gold daily chests on the 13th which I haven’t been able to open as of yet. I am hopeful that when I am finally able to access splinterlands again, I will be able to open my chests and win some amazing rewards.

Hopefully, I will be able to submit an entry for the battle mage secrets challenge.
