Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - All About The Rebellion

Hello splinterland warriors, friends and everyone on hive. Welcome to my social media challenge this week. Unlike my other social media weekly challenges, this week’s will take a different turn. I usually write about my favorite battles but today, it’s all about Rebellion.

So, if you’re a sprinterlands player or lover, you have in a way heard about the Rebellion set. It’s a new set of cards that was released for presale on the 18th of October 2023. It officially allowed purchases at 6pm UTC in the shop section of the spl website. Before the release, we were made aware of how much the packs would costs and the benefits we would open ourselves up to for purchasing.

There are a total of 500000 rebellion booster packs available for purchase. For now, you can still buy because the pre sale will end as soon as the 500K runs out or until after 30 days since the pre sale. At the time of writing, the pre sale ends in 26 days.

I have already bought my packs but unfortunately I was only able to get myself 2 packs. I have plans to get more to at least up to 10 packs. The remaining 8 will cost 32000 Dec + 40 vouchers but will cost 40000 Dec without the vouchers. I’m hoping I can get the funds to buy more before the pre sale ends.

Each rebellion pack owner will consist of 5 cards from the set but they will be selected randomly. We are guaranteed of at least 1 rare card as is the case with the chaos legion packs. If you’re able to purchase 100 packs or more in a single transaction, you’ll have 5% additional packs at a 5 vouchers tokens each. For 500 packs or more, you’ll have a 10% additional packs and 15% additional packs for 2000 or more purchased packs in a single transaction.

There’s a leaderboard that will showcase users or players with the most purchases. Rewards will be distributed based on your position on the leaderboard. First of all the top 6 owners will have the chance to help design a legendary summoner card. Cool right? I think it is. Also, the top 250 owners will be awarded an in game title. The 1st - 30th will be awarded The Dawnbringer title while the 31st - 100 will be called The Defiant. For now I wouldn’t be worthy of a title since I am 790th on the board.

Additionally, if you’re able to own at at least 10 booster packs, you will receive one Grimbardum Smith Neutral Rare card but owning up to 100 booster packs will allow you to have one Mantaroth Neutral Legendary card. The stats and abilities behind these cards are really good.

New abilities such as armored strikes, corrosive ward, flank and lockout have been added to the rebellion edition. The Armored strike will grant units the ability to have a additional melee attack. The corrosive ward will allow units to do 2 damage to the attacker’s shield. However, units without armor wouldn’t be affected by this damage.

Flank would allow second position monsters to have the reach ability. So, when the rebellion cards are in the first position, second position monsters would have reach ability. The lookout ability will grant adjacent units one less damage from opposition monsters with either sneak, opportunity or snipe abilities.
