Hello splinter warriors and the whole of hive. The splinterland community have been very excited for sometime now over a few things. It’s been over a week since the new set of cards were released and players have been getting acquainted with them.

Last week Tuesday, the rebellion cards were finally released for a general sale on the market while the cards that were bought during the pre-sale were eligible to be opened. I must say I was very excited to finally see what the cards looked like although we already had some sneak peaks.

I was finally able to open my packs but I did so with only one on Wednesday. I opened one of the seven packs I bought during the pre-sale and got my 5 rebellion cards. Honestly, it wasn’t a disappointing unboxing. You could see I had literal goosebumps if only you were near me.

It wasn’t until Saturday morning I bought more potions and opened the remaining 6 packs. I opened all one by one and saw my 30 beautiful looking dangerous rebellion cards stare at me. In addition to the 5 from the first pack I opened, that takes my total rebellion cards to 35 as at the time of writing.

My first impressions were met upon seeing my cards. The sneak peaks presented an idea of what the cards would look like upon release and it was exactly that. There were no exaggerations from the marketing team which is honestly, applauding in my opinion.

However, I have been quite sad to see that some of my favorite cards are no longer available for selection in the modern rank. I totally forgot the untamed monsters would be removed from the modern league and so, as I was looking to battle other players, I was seriously looking for my most used monsters only to finally realize they weren’t up for selection. As a Kron renter, I initially though my rent days were up till I checked it was still there. Unicorn Mustang too is one of the cards I will miss using in the modern league.

A few of the rebellion cards I have now are Ujurak Mystic, Mar Toren Seeker, Torch Vizier, Gobalano Soldier, Reklah, among others. I am still getting to know these monsters and I guess that is why I haven’t been able to win any battle with the rebellion as of yet.

One of the features I like so far is ambush. The number of times other players have used it on me is amazing. It is a nice to be able to attack your enemy even before the battle begins. It is also nice that you can see your opponent’s team before the battle begins and then choose the battle tactic you want applied. I have used the +2-melee attack for all my monsters and also the ability to heal one of my monsters each round. However, there are still a lot of battle tactics to try out with these new sets of cards.

I will share with everyone my progression and understanding of these new sets of cards in due time. I will most definitely scream out loud when I win my first battle with the rebellion packs.

Thank you.
