What can we expect from the water Splinter in Chaos Legion

Water is by far the strongest splinter in the bronze and silver leagues mainly due to magic. With Alric Stormbringer, Venari Wavesmith and Djinn Oshannus , the water magic team is strong against almost any line up. Another popular line up is the Magic Void range line up which features Bortus, Axemaster and Torhilo the Frozen. This line up hardcounters the magic team and does really well against everything else as well

What are we losing in Choas Legion

In Chaos legion modern mode, you will only be able to play Untamed edition, Dice Edition, Chaos Legion Edition along with the Reward cards that come with these sets. That means that we are going to be losing alot of high impact cards

1. Alric Stormbringer

2. Ruler of the Seas

3. The Kraken

4. Mischievous Mermaid

5. Medusa

6. Valnamor

The biggest loser is by far the magic water team. With Alric gone, without having the +1 Magic damage, the water magic team is just not as strong

Potential Upcoming cards

It is unlikely that the team prints another +1 Magic card which would be the same as an alric. And this is my hot take, Magic is going to be nerfed hard in Chaos Legion espeically for the lower levels. Instead i think that the summoners are going to get +1 range or Close Combat or True Strike and potential +1 Magic for the legendary summoner. i do also think that more monster will be getting the phase ability which allows magic attacks to miss

Water has one of the strongest Range Minions at the moment. With Axe Master, Two Gun Pete , Poseidon and Azmare Harpoonist being really strong, i wouldnt be surprised if the team goes down this route for Water. Imagine having a front line tank of Cornealus witht the heal and thorns, Poseidon with the shield supported by Axe Master with Double Strike. its going to be insane.

Another reason why i have gone down this route is the extremely low play rate of Poseidon. Really seems to be a trend for Dice Edition where the Legendary monster is that that powerful. But all that will hopefully change in Chaos Legion

What should you do?

Honestly nothing. But if you do want to predict the market, picking up a Cornealus, Axe Master and Poseidon while they are cheap could work out for you in the long term
