Let's Take A Look At Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Today we take a look back at one of my all time favourite horror games, Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

So I played this game way back in 2011 at my friends house when I was way to young to be playing a game like this!
They told me it was a really good game and that I definitely needed to play it. What I didn't know was that it was a horror game. Anything horror scares the hell out of me so there I was, getting into the game then BAM! Something starts chasing me and I'm screaming and trying to hide in a cupboard of all places.
To make matter's worse was that my friend hadn't even been able to get that far in the game and they 'loved horror'.

In the game you play as Daniel who wakes up in a desolate castle. Remembering very little about his past, you must continue deeper into the creepy castle piecing bits together and try to remember.

With no weapons in the game, your only means to survive is to run and hide. Using your quick thinking can allow you to progress while being hunted down. But don't push your luck too far. You might just get caught!

While playing you do have to manage your sanity with the use of light which was a really great aspect of the game. Being scared I used the lantern way to much which really makes the game even harder and creepier.
Keep that mental health clean folks or it does get weird!

Should you play it? If you want a game that still plays really well, has some good scares and some weirdness in it. Then I can recommend this for you to try. Best played at night in the dark with headphones on. Make sure no one is going to come scare the life out of you while you play though!
It also has some good puzzles which will test your brain but not push you too far to lose the immersion that the games builds so well.

I purposely have not posted certain screenshots as it will ruin the surprise that you get to meet in the game. It is creepy as anything I can think of. Once it knows you are there, get running!
