Buying Credits, Dcalpha packs, CUB, CAKE, staking VITE and going passive

During the pre-sale of the Chaos league packs, I was able to get 4 packs using vouchers on the game, then when the Voucher airdrop stopped, I sold the 0.6 I had and got one extra pack on Hive-engine. I still had some cash after I made the purchase, I felt wise.

I know the only downside of that is I'll be one pack short from my airdrop qualification but I've never been so lucky with these things so I don't bother so much anymore.

I spent about $20 on the purchase of my packs and when I opened them on the 9th of December the cards I got were only worth about $30. I felt a little bad but I try not to be ungrateful so I just moved on.

When I made the decision to spend less and start investing a little more, I got a little lost on what to do and how I could utilize my little resources to the fullest. So, I had a talk with my brother, as I always do when I need counsel.

First off, he reminded me of how dumb I've been for not taking profits and hoarding more stable coins. I have to admit, I always thought I was wise. I hardly hold onto any stable coin asides from HBD because I consider the rest to be too accessible. So, he told me to move all my profits that I don't have an immediate use for into my HBD savings.

Other investments

Right after the talk about stable coins, we had a long talk about Splinterlands and how I need to be ready for the end of the second phase of the Chaos legion sales. He explained it to me, and then later I took to Splinterlands to read all about it for myself.

He advised I begin stacking Splinterland credits, so I did. At first, I used DEC to purchase about 15,000 but then I realized it wasn't a good idea so I stopped. Later on, I received 250 Leo from @leofinance so I used a little over 100 Leo to purchase about 20,700 credits making my overall credits to be over 35,700.

My target was 100,000 so I removed some HBD from my savings and purchased 65,000 more credits, surpassing my target just a little. At least this way I'll be ready for when the second phase ends and I'll be able to buy more packs than I was previously able to.

I'm also receiving the Vouchers daily. Haven't quite figured out what I'll do with them yet but we'll see. I hear they're pretty scarce so maybe they'll be worth a fortune soon enough.

Getting out of Hive

I complained to my brother a bit about how the majority of my funds were circulating around Hive and Hive based projects. I have no problem with that, I just feel like it's not enough. I need to diversify properly outside of the Blockchain.

My blockhead had no idea I'd been doing that by staking CUB, so when he explained a little more to me, I used 100 Leo I received for a job I did for someone and I invested it CAKE, then I added another 100 Leo form the rewards I got from Leofinance to buy some more CAKE. It's not a lot but it's a great start. I staked my CAKE in Kingdoms and I receive really little rewards over a period of time.

The next thing I talked about was VITE. After I read this post post by @forexbrokr I decided to look into staking VITE. I had gotten it sometime this year but it was just sitting prettily in my Binance wallet so I decided to make it a bit useful to me by staking it on the VITE DEX.

I only have about $11 worth so I don't mind playing around with it.

My gaming story

I'm finally laying my Splinterlands to rest. Or am I?

I finally made the decision to rent out all my Splinterlands cards. It's been a little stressful putting them up on the market as I try to be a little meticulous and considerate as I decide on how much I would prefer to rent my cards against the prices I see there. I try not to go below the lowest asking price and just stay somewhere between the top 5 prices that could keep me safe on the market.

After completing this renal, I'll be beginning a new Splinterlands story with one of my sub-accounts. I'll be playing only when I can and not as often as I felt I had to with my main account. I realized I always felt pressured because I had a lot of cards just lying around and I haven't been very consistent lately so it sort of felt like my money was being wasted.

Finally, I've been investing in Dcalpha packs. I like how passive Dcrops is. It barely takes more than 10 minutes of my time and I don't get to do anything most days. I've gotten up to 10 packs since I started playing and I'll definitely be getting more in the near future.

I decided to give Gods Unchained a chance but between my personal work, freelance articles and bad health lately, I've had to put it on hold. Hopefully, I'll get back to it when I feel better.

In the meantime, I'm trying to arrange my life in order to accommodate some new skills I'll be acquiring soon. I believe in starting the new year before it begins so I think it makes sense that I begin my journey into programming before the year ends, wish me luck.

I've got a lot on my mind lately, but as always, I'm making sure I don't feel pressured to push myself beyond what I can handle.

Thanks for reading!

For me, while I do hold some things outside Hive, I think we are to the point now where all my focus is on Hive based projects. As you noted some do extend outside like Cubfinance but that is tied to LEO.

With all the growth and expansion, there are enough projects on Hive to make one well off. To me it is like investing in a developing country that, at some point, explodes. We are in on the ground floor.

No doubt. I hold about 90% of my finance on the Hive blockchain and projects on Hive. I still have up to 10 shitcoins I invested in on Binance but they're just holdings.

I'm always internally debating whether I'm too overexposed to HIVE and LEO.

I'm obviously extremely bullish on the ecosystem and want to be in a position to achieve life changing gains if HIVE ever truly re-prices.

But at the same time, I have to be somewhat realistic and at least have some level of diversification.

Like you, CUB and the BNB side of my bLEO:BNB LP has been my main investment outside of Hive.

It's nowhere near the size of my Hive-related investments and I plan to do something similar on Polygon, getting exposure in whichever MATIC pools go up after polyCUB eventually launches.

Right now I'm thinking that this is the right balance between diversification and putting myself in a position to take full advantage if HIVE and LEO go proper parabolic.

Anyway, just my 2c :)

My plan is to have passive income coming in from my holdings outside of Hive. Hence, why I had to take up staking ViteX tokens. I believe in Hive the most so 90% of what I own can revolve around the projects here.
