Splinterlands - Odd Ones Out Strategy - Low mana battles

Today, I'm going to talk about what kind of teams are popular in the diamond and champion league.

In short, he talks about

1. Only taunt monster in odd number is Mycelic Slipspawn

2. Use opportunity ability (but expect opportunity on the other side too)

3. Expect sneak

Now, Let's look at what kind of teams are popular in the diamond and champion league.

This article is going to be something that I come back to remember what kind of teams to expect in this ruleset.

Fire

• The popular tank, serpentine soldier
• Multiple speed buffs/debuffs: Flame monkey, Flame imp, Goblin Shaman, creeping ooze
• Opportunity, serpentine spy
  
  

• expect snipe
  It's notable that 2 of the snipe monsters are 3 mana. Lava spider and Fire beetle.

Water

Water sneak is very popular. Water has really good sneak monsters.

• Sabre shark
• Pelacor bandit
• You might see Uraeus, elven cutthroat as well

Earth

• Expect Lama Hydra & Lama Pelacor mercenary

• Lama Hydra usually wins against Lama Pelacor mercenary

• Expect opportunity
• Expect archery including snipe
• Expect Mylor, thorns
• Earth doesn't have melee sneak (it has Goblin Sorcerer, magic)

Life

• Expect sneak with Lorna
• The cat, Feral Spirit has 6 or 7 speed naturally. It is usually the one that attacks first
• Stitch leech is slow, it needs speed buff, debuff. It is very strong if it can actually hit the target because it has life leech and 4 melee attack.
• Life has soul fiend +1 speed. It also has 1 mana swiftness, silvershield bard to buff speed

Death

• Expect sneak, Skeleton Assassin, Silent Sha-vi, neutral sneak monsters

• Expect Lord of Darkness, retaliate, stun is very powerful, hard to beat with small mana sneak cards.
• Expect -1 melee debuff from the summoner
• Shadowy presence is a must have card if you're using death team in low mana matches because of +1 hp, +1 melee attack.

I believe this covers the most popular teams in low mana odd ones out ruleset.

Closing thoughts

You can see that we should expect a lot of melee attackers in low mana odd ones out ruleset. Because of that, I think Mylor team is really strong.

Another thought is that it's very rare to see taunt in low mana matches. Because of that, the opportunity is a really good play.

You don't really need to worry so much about magic.

Archery monsters are used sometimes in Fire or Earth.
