In this post I will talk about the Flying Squid card and how it is incredibly useful for your battles in addition to being an excellent defense.

The Flying Squid is a common card of the chaos legion edition that belongs to the water deck, you should play with him another one against him often since it is a card very used in battles and you can also play with him for free at level 1 just for having bought the Spellbook since it is one of the non-NFTs cards that the game makes available for you to play, and even at level 1 it is already an amazing card but at higher levels it becomes even better and in this post I will show it talking about it and also showing him in battle.

  • Let's start with your stats and abilities:

As you can see in the image above it is a melee type card and if you don't know, melee cards cannot be used in any position unless there is a rule in battle that allows or has one of these abilities ( Sneka, Opportunity or Reach ) , in the case of Flying Squid it has the Reach ability that allows it to attack from second position so you can put it in that position without fear that it will still attack and also be a great defense in case the first position card is defeated and it has to assume that position.

Your next ability that is activated from level 6 is the blind and it's not very common to see this ability in battles but you can be sure it's amazing because it increases the chances of enemy cards miss the attack by 15% and it may seem little but it makes a lot of difference and you'll see in a little while in battle how very effective this ability will be.

imag 10.png

Its last ability that activates at level 10 is Backfire which makes Flying Squid do 2 damage when an enemy card misses the attack on it, so it's a great combination to have with the blind ability, but unfortunately I won't be able to show it her in battle because my Flying Squid is at level 8.

In short, Flying Squid will be an excellent defense for your battles and it will also cause good damage since its attack is not low and it will also serve as a card that will benefit all your other cards as it will increase the chances of enemy cards miss attacks on them. Now let's talk about the cards I used to accompany the Flying Squid in this battle.

  • Cards Used:

As a summoner I used Alric Stormbringer because I had a lot of magic attack cards on the field and he gives them +1 magic attack so it will be very useful.

Deeplurker is a card that is not usually used in first position but I used it in this battle because I wanted to have Flying Squid in second position and unfortunately it was not a very good decision since Deeplurker didn't resist for a long time, but he has a lot attack and ability Poison which makes it have a chance to apply this effect on the enemy card and deal 2 damage to it at the end of the round and its ability Opportunity will not be useful because it is in the first position.

I placed the Flying Squid in second position because I thought it was the best position for him and as I mentioned before he will be very useful in dealing damage, defending and decreasing the chances of enemy cards hitting the attack.

Nerissa Tridawn is one of my cards with magic attack on the field and she has a lot of health so it won't be easy to defeat her and as she has a lot of attack so she will do a lot of damage in this battle.

Medusa is another one of my magic attack cards and it will be very useful because of its ability Stun which gives it a chance to make a card incapacitated for 1 round when it attacks and that will make a lot of difference in this battle.

Venari Wavesmith is also a card with magic attack that has an important role in this battle which is its ability Protect which makes it grant +2 shield to all of its cards on the field and this is very important to increase defenses against melee and ranged cards of my opponent. It also has the ability Dispel which makes it clear all positive stats from the card it attacks.

Pelacor Bandit is a melee card with a lot of speed and the ability Flying that makes it have a better chance to dodge attacks from cards that don't have that ability, so it will be a great combination with Flying Squid's Blind ability and it also has it. the ability Sneak that allows you to attack from that position and attack the enemy card in the last position.

  • Now I will introduce you to the battle:
BATTLE

imag 3.png

In this battle my opponent used the summoner Kelya Frendul which grants +1 speed and +1 shield so it's a great summoner to have, but as I have many cards with magic attack the shield won't be a big problem and so will my Venari Wavesmith grants shield to my cards so I also have good defense and he also has a Venari Wavesmith that grants +2 shield to his cards so my melee cards will have a hard time dealing damage.

In this first round both sides lost the cards that were positioned in the first position and both still have plenty of shields.

imag 4.png

During the second round, Flying Squid's Blind ability was very useful and my opponent missed a lot of attacks and thanks to that he is still on the field and also manages to defeat his Flying Squid.

imag 6.png

During the third round my Flying Squid was defeated but he was still very useful in this round causing damage and defending, in addition to making my opponent's cards miss attacks so even though he was defeated he was very useful and gave me a big advantage.

imag 7.png

During the fourth round my opponent still had a lot of shield as a defense but most of my remaining cards had magic attack so the shield was not very useful to him and his cards were low on health.

imag 8.png

The fifth round ended the battle and the large amount of health that Nerissa Tridawn had served as a great defense so my opponent wasn't able to do much damage as I had more attack and in this round I got the victory of the battle.

Even though Flying Squid didn't hold out until the end it was incredibly useful and if it weren't for its ability Blind the battle would have been harder and maybe the result would have been different, but as you can see it's an amazing card to have in your battles and that was my challenge for this week, thanks for reading.
