The first critique I got; they didnt properly show how aang became a outsider because they told him he is the avatar, which was a big part of the reason why he ran away.
Why would a kid not dream of being special, be someone like the avatar? unless it ostracizes him from his friends.

instead of showing what a person he is, playing games with friends, pulling pranks with gyatso they just have him say "uh I like these things and im scared" and then he runs away? what

he ran because he felt betrayed by his friends, his family (gyatso) they wanted to send him away without telling him, just deciding so... not because he was scared of being powerful
makes it look like aang is a unresponsible child throwing a fit...
I really hope they dont keep him acting like that

he is told "you are the avatar" and we straight cut to "nah fam ima leave"
no reason beyond he doesnt feel like it or smth.
Aang is loyal, only after he is betrayed by his literal family, after he hears indirectly from gyatso that hes just gonna send him away alone, he runs.
the main reason he doesnt take responsibility in book1 is because he hasnt yet realized the gravity of the war. that they killed his family, his whole tribe, everyone he knew

all interactions are with gyatso, and he runs before he even knew they would send him away. he didnt even know they'd betray him, he didnt know the other kids would ostracize him
sets a really bad precedent imo
at least zuko seems fairly on point, though a bit calm.

What a tale! He ran in anticipation that they will betray him and it later turned out that he was right
