Well, first impressions, I was pretty underwhelmed. Something about this album just didn't really do anything for me. To me, the riffs felt a bit bland, the drumming was typical for the genre, just balls to the wall and blast beats and what not, though to be fair there were some really cool moments as well. The vocals did not do much for me, most of the time they sounded, again, typical for the genre, as well as them sounding like belches which, i don't know, I'm not a fan of. Overall, the music just felt a little 2 dimensional. It had its calm moments, and its intense moments, but the calm moments were rare and in expected places. I don't know, maybe I'm just tired, but I don't have a lot to say. This just wasn't it.

Rating: 5/10
"the only way for it to sound like a 2 dimensional continuous barrage of blast beats and bland riffs is if you cant follow along with the melody and cant tell the different layers apart

There's many different layers to it and there is a lot of variations to drumming and riffing. The music is as segmented as other genres are with intros, outros, bridges, choruses, climaxes and so on if it all sounds like either calm moments or blast beats and bland riffs then thats just not knowing whats going on "
Pretty bland riffs, monotone vocals, drumming is kind of the same, just fast and blast beats n stuff, its not without its merits of course, its not horrible, but i don't see the hype.
