Battle Mage Secrets: Avoiding spells for battle

17_02_2024 9_32_35 pm.png

Good day everyone splinterlands community, zactian here. Today I'll blog about another weekly challenge, Battle Mage Secrets, and share my strategy.

What Account Use

I'll play my Scholar Account (IGN: BLTZR-WIZARD-724). I will reveal my primary technique in this rule set Champion/Diamond League level.

Challenge Rule set

Counter Spell is the challenge, which all units gains the ability of Magic Reflect.

Comment below with your opinions on the potential lineups at this level. Is it effective for this battle ruleset? Let's see and match up with the Counter Spell rule set.

Counter Spell

All units gain the ability of Magic Reflect, which is an ability that can backfire magic once it hits the units.

INTO THE BATTLE:

Rule Set

Odd Ones Out

  • Only Odd mana cost cards are usable in this battle.

Counter Spell

  • All units gain the ability of Magic Reflect.

Recommended summoner to use Close Range for this match:

I would suggest picking some speed, armor, or damage Summoner for Melee and Range since it Odds Ones Out Rule Set it would be the best choice to pick Sneakly attacks. In this case, I would be choosing Kelya Frendul this summoner is very useful for tanking those enemy Melee or Range units and speed for a chance of attacking first and a chance of miss incoming attacks from the enemy. In the water element, I can do a lineup for low mana cost because of the 14 mana cap rule set then Cruel Sethropod or Chaos Agent I put for tanking and the rest would be sneaky attacks line up.

Note: I only have limited cards but they are useful in some rule sets and I will try my best to win with existing cards. So if you want a high chance of winning, I advise you to rent or buy useful or stronger cards for most rule sets.

Kelya Frendul

  • Increasing Speed and Armor by 1. Since the rule is Silinced Summoner then this won't help.

    • Most of my common line up is Water element and this would be another rule set taking advantage of the ruleset.

My Lineup

First position - Chaos Agent
  • Acts as a tank in the first position because of some useful abilities, Dodge for a chance of miss incoming Range or range attacks, Phase for a chance of miss incoming incoming Magic attacks, Backfire once the opponent miss the attacks from this unit it will trigger backfire resudcing opponent by 2.
Second position - Tide Biter
  • A Second position for Tide Biter, I chose this because it has reach and guarantee hit ability making it a good core damage (3 melee damage) with decent 4 speed and 6 healths.
Third position - Uraeus
  • Might also act as main damage because of the presence of the ability to apply by chance poison to the enemy, and this unit does a sneaky attack with 3 melee damage.
Last position - Pelacor Bandit
  • It is my best choice to put it in the last position because of its Flying ability with 6-speed that can have a chance of miss those sneakily incoming attacks.

Analyzing Battle

The opponent chooses Quix the Devious which is also good for reducing both range and speed by 1. The lineup it displays is quite impressive because Chaos Agaent is in the back position and Pelacor Deciever for a tank position. I think Pelacor Deceiver is what I'm concerned about because of its Retaliate ability, an ability that will trigger by chance once it hits the opposing unit. As you can see it is quite balanced though I have the upper hand because I have armor in every unit.

Effective or not?

Well that was easy, as you've watched the match all of my units were able to hit perfectly to the opponent with no missed attacks. Opponent Chaos Agent didn't much help by luck here because my Pelacor Bandit one shot it.

It is truly my luck on this match like battle of RNG which side will win by luck.😁 Though if the opponent have some solid Legendary or stronger units in low mana cap rule set then I might lose the battle.

If you want to use Water Line-up, please read over some of my blogs; they could be useful. 😊

I haven't played it yet, But from the looks from it likely the same gameplay that I played during DOTA 1 Tower defense and I have fun playing with it.
