Battle Mage Secrets: The Warrior’s Bow in Close Range

Good day everyone splinterlands community, zactian here. Today I'll blog about another weekly challenge, Battle Mage Secrets, and share my strategy.


What Account Use

I'll play my Scholar Account (IGN: BLTZR-WIZARD-724). I will reveal my primary technique in this rule set Champion/Diamond League level.

Challenge Rule set

Close Range is the challenge, all range units will have the ability of Close Range. Publish by the challenge on the official Splinterlands Hive Blog.

All range units will have the ability of Close Range which can attack in first position.

Target Practice

  • Magic and Range units will now have the ability of Snipe.

Back to Basics

  • All abilities of the units are disabled, meaning only the rule set is valid.

Close Range

  • All range units will have the ability of Close Range which can attack in first position.

Recommended summoner to use Close Range for this match:

I would suggest picking defense or high-damage Summoner for Magic and Range because of Back to Basics rule sets all unit's abilities useless. In this case, I would be choosing IMMORTALIS this summoner is very useful for tanking those enemy magic units and also the Shatter ability that will shatter the enemy armor which is also good for Close Range if you want to prioritize Range attacks.



Note: I only have limited cards but they are useful in some rule sets and I will try my best to win with existing cards. So if you want a high chance of winning, I advise you to rent or buy useful or stronger cards for most rule sets.



Immortalis

  • Decreasing Health by 1, and giving Void and Shatter Ability to friendly units.

    • As I said earlier Back to Basic is quietly dominating in terms of Rule sets. So Immortalis is the best choice for shattering armor and tanking mage attacks.

My Lineup

First position - Hill Giant
  • Acts as a tank in the first position because of massive 9 health and with decent 3 damage and speed.
Second position - Regal Peryton
  • A Second position for Regal Peryton because of 7 speed It might take a chance of miss incoming range attacks of the Snipe Ability rule set.
Third position - Magi of Chaos
  • Act as a Main magic damage for my team that has 4 magic damage and a decent amount of 7 health.
Fourth position - Venari Seedsmith
  • Though I have messed up because I plan to organize Melee, magic, and range with massive health in front and massive damage at the back. It still did a good job for it has a rule set of Close Range. Venari in fifth position is what I would suggest next time.
Fifth position - Gem Meteor
  • Additional Damage for my team with 4 melee damage and 5 speed.
Last position - Hunter Jarx
  • My main range damage of my team with 5 range damage and a decent 8 healths.

Analyzing Battle

The opponent uses Possibilus the Wise a legendary summoner in water element. Since it has Reach Ability it uses another melee at its disposal, most melee are in high health and the opponent chooses the lineup of Diemondshark at front, Arkemis the Bear at the second position, and the rest are in range attacks. As you can see I was dominated by Health difference though I did dominate the opponent by damage because I have Magi Chaos, Regal Peryton and I have Shatter ability.

Effective or not?

The opponent range units are wiped out because I prioritize of using Range and Magi units with the help of the rule set the Target Practice which has all Range and Magi units gain the ability of Snipe. The only thing left is the Arkemis the Bear and Diemonshark since these units have massive health though I did shatter the armor of Diemonshark making my Range attack to execute the plan.

It was close😁 but I managed to win this match, As you can watch the match It activated the Trample ability making my Hill Giant, Regal Peryton, Magi of Chaos, and Venari Seedsmith execute. If I miss a single Range attack of my range Units I might probably lose this match, Luckily enough my Range attacks all hit.😁
