Dragon with Martyr's ability units

An interesting strategy about this dragon is that they are likely strong and will dominate most battles, especially when the rule set given is higher or a 99 mana cap. It utilizes its ability if it's worth combining with the rule set or risking it with your lineup strategy plan.

Good day everyone and Splinterlands community. Today's Blog highlight will be the Dragons unit (specifically Chaos Dragon) with Martyr's ability combo. I'll also share my experience on this new update mechanics in rewards.

Lily Shieldpaw

Adds 1 health with Camouflage and Triage abilities to all friendly units.

I choose this over Quix the Devious because of the rule set given by Noxious Fumes, for Tirage ability to heal at the back per round. I want to avoid using melee units because of the Briar Patch rule set and this is a good choice of element water for extra cards to choose from and most of the units are high speed.

The rule set given is Aimless, Noxious Fumes, and Briar Patch with 43 mana-cap. Earth, Life, and Death elements are inactive in this battle.
In this case, the dragon element is helpful for extra cards to choose from and combine with water for I plan to utilize Baakjira as a tank and River Nymph for support. My main plan for damage and healing is the use of Chaos Dragon for main damage and Venari Marksrat to boost all stats of Chaos Dragon magic damage and Angelic Mandarin for healing support.

My Simple Plan Line up

First position - Baakjira
  • Act as a tank in the First Position, I assume that the opponent would use Range or Magic attack so this is a good choice because of the massive health it has and Healing capabilities.
Second position - Chaos Dragon
  • Act as the main damage of my team also this unit has Scattershot ability hoping this unit will get a lucky attack-hit on to enemy support unit or strong unit.
Third position - Venari Marksrat
  • My support unit that can trigger Martyrs ability when this unit is executed, a good combo of Noxious Fumes that will easily execute this unit and give 1 all stats to my adjacent which is the Chaos Dragon and Angelic Mandarin
Fourth position - Angelic Mandarin
  • A support unit of my team with useful abilities it has. The Triage for healing to my team unit except for the first position and Silence ability which can debuff magic damage of opponent.
Fifth position - Riverboat Captain
  • Another support unit of my team that helps a chance of applying affliction to enemy units hits and will stop healing. And could also be a damage dealer because of Blast's ability and this unit is a magic damage dealer that deals 3 magic damage.
Last position - River Nymph
  • Another support of my team, which increases speed to all my friendly units. And to Cleanse my Baakjira against Poison from Noxious Fumes.

Selecting a useful ability in this battle with a good amount of damage will increase your chances of victory in this type of rule set.

Will my strategy line up work?

The opponent uses Sthispa Summoner which is a good counter to magic attacks, and it uses also a strategy of using Martyr's ability to boost Redwyrm Dragon, Oshuur Constantia, and the Forgotten One. All of these are pretty strong cards and utilizing line up strategy of using Martyrs which is the Vruz and Firecaller. I hope that my attacks will attack first the opponent Redwyrm Dragon or Oshuur Constantia.

Got lucky attack hits to enemy units, though I did miss a lot of attacks because of the Phase ability from the summoner. I would probably lose if the opponent prioritized of using Range attacks instead of magic and had strong/useful on this rule set.

What could we learn from this strategy?

You will have a high chance of winning the match if you analyze carefully the opponent's history battle line up as this will give you an assumption of what to use in the battle and take advantage of the rule set whether a baiting strategy or utilizing the ability.

This is another simple strategy yet helpful for certain matches in the Dragon-Water line-up element, feel free to check my other blog that uses the Water element which I commonly use, and hope this could help you in the battle. 😊

Are the new Update mechanics rewards good?🤔

I don't know, I have this mix of good or bad mechanics reward review😅. But I think this is a good side update of the rewards mechanics as this will improve a bit of the ecosystem chain because I think some of the players are not that investing back of the game which leads to updates, another good side is that we can buy SB cards, Merits, etc. using Glint, and some of us have already max SB cards with extra copies which can turn to Glint if burn. The bad side of this is that we no longer have Daily Quests chests and SPS rewards😣. In those old times when we were getting lucky or bad on SPS reward, I even focused only on the logo of SPS rather than looking at the number SPS just to trill a bit if I got some lucky digits or not. Well to be honest I got so many potions than SPS lol.

What do you think? is the update of removing SPS reward in chests and daily quests a good one?
