Splinterlands Art Contest Week 356 // 3D Model Of Vampiric Blossom

Greetings everyone! Welcome to my entry piece of Splinterlands Art Contest Week 356. For this contest, my entry card is a model of Vampiric Blossom. This was a little challenging to do but after some hours of contemplating of the various manipulations to be done to achieve it, I finally got an idea on how to go about it. And for each of my work I must confess how interesting 3D has become for me, this one too wasn't an exemption, it was fun to sculpt and model, I sculpted this piece using a circle and then a combination of other sculpt tools.

In the course of my daily exploration, I discovered something I've always wanted in the software I used for sculpting and modelling and that is texture availability. I have been limited to an extent on that software because I didn't know before how to import and apply textures to my 3D, but after discovering it in this very work, I bet you that the rest of my work will come with ease when it has to do with textures cause I really love to leave some texture effects on my 3D art. Without any further ado, let's dive right into my creation and also let me know what you think of my work.
Do check out the work process and appreciate this piece of my work, thank you.

Work Process

The piece like you've seen started with a circle which I used to create some part of this card, a major part of this work is done with extrusions, and that is where the whole magic of any of my 3D model begins, your ability to extrude, refine and resize your materials gives your work just the right fit and I'm happy to see how that tool plays out pretty well on my work and gives it a defining touch.

So after making extrusions on the circle material I had, I smoothen the jaw/mouth layer and then went ahead to work on the teeth, the center eyes and the inner part that represents the tongue.
And there after, I simply worked on the leaves, extruding and resizing it till I got the shape of leaf I wanted and made it complement the original card

When I was done sculpting the whole model, I started painting the model though with different colours that wasn't the original colour of the card, I guess I was trying to see what how the first colour would look on the model before I then switch to the Splinterlands card original color, this took a while to finish since I had to paint it according to the original, leaving lighter and darker tone and portions on the model to give it a defined outlook.
After the whole painting process, I realised how lovely the fanart turned out and I felt really proud of it.

This one might have taken awhile to sculpt and I also learned one or two new stuff while working on this piece. I will say it can only get better and will keep getting better in every piece I sculpt. I hope you like my entry for the Splinterlands Art Contest for this week, see you around and see you in my next post!.
