Share your Battle - Legionnaire Alvar (DE/ENG)
Einleitung
Was für ein Artwork! Wow! Ich liebe es! … aber jetzt wieder zurück zum eigentlichen Thema dieses Posts, dem Share your Battle. Diese Woche steht Legionnaire Alvar im Rampenlicht. Solide Karte, im Prinzip. Aber wenn ich mir meine Spiele rückblickend anschaue, muss ich gestehen, dass er eigentlich nur sehr selten in meiner Aufstellung vorkommt. Aber wieso eigentlich? Gute Frage. Schauen wir ihn uns heute mal an und finden heraus, was für ein Potenzial in ihm schlummert. Ich hab das Gefühl, dass ich heute etwas hinzulernen werde.
Ich würde auch gerne die Gelegenheit ergreifen und Bescheid geben, dass ab diesem Post, in Zukunft, immer ein zusätzlicher Abschnitt in meinen Share your Battle Posts vorkommen wird. Ich hab mich, wie du vielleicht bereits mitbekommen hast, den Anfängerguides verschrieben. Deshalb gebe ich nun immer am Ende des Posts, jaaaaa du musst alles lesen, einen Input der vor allem für Neulinge in Splinterlands von Bedeutung ist. Showcasing ist ja bekanntlich nicht alles.
Introduction
What an artwork! Wow! I love it! ... but now back to the real topic of this post, the Share your Battle post. This week, Legionnaire Alvar is in the spotlight. Solid card, in principle. But when I look back at my games, I have to admit that he's actually very rarely in my lineup. But why actually? Good question. Let's take a look at him today and find out what his potential is. I have a feeling I'm going to learn something today.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to let it be known that starting with this post, going forward, there will always be an additional section in my Share your Battle posts. I have, as you may have already noticed, dedicated myself to beginner guides. That's why I now always give input at the end of the post, yes you have to read it all, which is especially important for newcomers to Splinterlands. Showcasing is not everything, as you know.
Die Stat Card
Legionnaire Alvar ist eine neutrale Karte. Du kannst ihn also beliebig mit anderen Elementen kombinieren. Ein Blick auf die Karte und man erkennt gleich: Ein wahres Monster. Deshalb frage ich mich gerade wieder, wieso spiele ich den nicht öfter? 2 Angriff, 2 Geschwindigkeit, 8 Schild und 6 Leben. Ein solider Tank. Zusätzlich besitzt er die Fähigkeit Void Shield. Magie Attacken müssen sich also genau so wie Nahkampf- und Fernkampfattacken erst durch seinen Schild bohren. Eigentlich ein guter Allrounder auf der 1 als Tank. Ab Level 2 erhält er dann noch einen zusätzlichen Nahkampfschaden sowie die Fähigkeit Giantkiller, eine Fähigkeit die gegen Monster mit Manakosten von 10 oder mehr mehr Schaden anrichtet. Auf Level 3 und 4 kommen dann Demoralize und “Deathblow” hinzu. Mit diesen 4 Fähigkeiten kommt er seinem Ruf als Legionnaire vollkommen nach.
Ich selbst spiele ihn auf Level 2. Mal schauen, bin echt gespannt.
The Stat Card
Legionnaire Alvar is a neutral card. So you can combine him with other elements as you like. A look at the card and you can see right away: a real monster. That's why I'm asking myself again, why don't I play him more often? 2 attack, 2 speed, 8 shield and 6 life. A solid tank. Additionally he has the ability Void Shield. So magic attacks have to drill through his shield first, just like melee and ranged attacks. Actually a good allrounder on the first row as a tank. At level 2 he gets additional melee damage and the ability Giantkiller, an ability that does damage against monsters with mana costs of 10 or more. At level 3 and 4, Demoralize and Deathblow are added. With these 4 abilities, he fully lives up to his reputation as a Legionnaire.
I play him on level 2. Let's see, I'm really curious.
Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Wie bereits oben angeschnitten, ist “Legionnaire Alvar” ein echter Allrounder. Das bedeutet, dass er relativ oft, eigentlich fast immer, gespielt werden kann. Je nach Ruleset kann man ihn anders aufstellen, wobei ich ihn aber irgendwie immer an vorderster Front sehe. Eben wegen der flexiblen Anwendung seines Schildes.
Die Manakosten von 9 sind hingegen ein leichter Nachteil, da es schwierig wird ihn in Matches mit kleineren Manapools einzusetzen
Possible uses
As already mentioned above, "Legionnaire Alvar" is a real allrounder. This means that he can be played relatively often, actually almost always. Depending on the ruleset, he can be used in different ways, but somehow I always see him in the front line. Just because of the flexible use of his shield.
The mana cost of 9 is a slight disadvantage, as it makes it difficult to use him in matches with smaller mana pools.

Das heutige Spiel - Ruleset und Manacap
22 Mana - Ein bisschen was ich befürchtet habe. Zusammen mit dem Summoner ist bereits über die Hälfte des Manapools verbraucht. True Aim und Forbidden Magic hatten keinen weiteren Einfluss auf das Spiel meiner Meinung nach.
bezüglich der Auswahl der Elemente hatte ich vor Leben zu spielen habe mich dann aber für Feuer entschieden. Die Gründe zähle ich dir unter folgendem Punkt auf.
Today's game - Ruleset and Manacap
22 Mana - A bit what I feared. Along with the Summoner, over half of the mana pool is already used up. True Aim and Forbidden Magic had no further impact on the game in my opinion.
Regarding the choice of elements, I had planned to play Life, but then I decided to play Fire. I'll tell you the reasons under the following point.
Die Ausstellung
Um es übersichtlich zu halten liste ich folgend meine Aufstellung auf und teile meine Überlegungen mit:
- Tarsa - +1 Schaden und +1 Leben, damit wollte ich, dass Legionnaire Alvar (die übrigen Monster natürlich auch) noch stärker sind und länger überleben.
- Legionnaire Alvar - Haupttank und Star des Kampfes - hoffentlich :)
- Scorched Fiend - Buffer um Opportunity Monster aufzufangen
- Chaos Agent - Ebenfalls und zusätzlich als Buffer für den Serpertine Spy
- Serpertine Spy - Da er für wenig Mana relativ stark ist, musste ich ihn reinstellen
- Tenji Striker - Sneak und Dodgen, ich spiele ihn in fast allen meiner Feuer Setups.
The lineup
To keep it simple, I list my lineup below and share my thoughts:
- Tarsa - +1 damage and +1 life, with this I wanted Legionnaire Alvar (the rest of the monsters too of course) to be even stronger and survive longer.
- Legionnaire Alvar - main tank and star of the battle - hopefully :)
- Scorched Fiend - buffer to deviate opportunity monsters
- Chaos Agent - additionally buffer to protect the Serpertine Spy
- Serpertine Spy - Since he is relatively strong for little mana, I had to put him in.
- Tenji Striker - Sneak and dodge, I play him in almost all of my fire setups.
Das Spiel
Oh Gott. Genau das war mein erster Gedanke. Ich erkannte gleich, dass Legionnaire Alvar mir das Genick brechen würde. Der Gegnger konnte sich durch seinen "billigen" Tank viel flexibler und breiter Aufstellen. Dieses Spiel kann ich eigentlich nicht gewinnen. Ich habe zwar genug Power, aber weniger Attacken. Wenn kein Wunder geschieht kommt es wohl zu einer Niederlage.
The game
Jesus. That was exactly my first thought. I realized right away that Legionnaire Alvar would break my neck. The opponent was able to position himself much more flexibly and broadly due to his "cheap" tank. I can't really win this game. I have enough power, but less attacks. If no miracle happens, it will probably come to a defeat.
Das Resultat
Leider habe ich Recht behalten und verloren. An Alvar lag es "per se" nicht, aber einen so teueren Tank in so einem kleinen Manapool zu spielen wird halt bestraft.
The result
Unfortunately I was right and lost. It wasn't because of Alvar "per se", but playing such an expensive tank in such a small mana pool is punished.
Mein Anfängertips
Wie weiter oben bereits angekündigt, will ich den Einsteigern in Splinterlands helfen ihr Spiel zu verbessern und teile deshalb ein paar Gedanken mit euch, heute betreffend Legionnaire Alvar:
- Er ist ein Allrounder, aber nur in Spielen mir hohen Manapools! Achte gut darauf wenn du ihn einsetzen willst.
- Wenn du ihn in einem Pack ziehst, dann Glückwunsch. Ich würde Dir aber nicht raten ihn zu kaufen um ihn ausschließlich auf Level 1 dein eigen zu nennen. Wenn du ihn aufleveln willst dann auf jeden Fall ne gute Karte. Als Level 1 Karte aber gibt es bessere Alternativen als Tank, welche zum Teil auch günstiger sind.
My beginner tips
As announced above, I want to help the newcomers in Splinterlands to improve their game and therefore share some thoughts with you, today concerning Legionnaire Alvar:
- He is an allrounder, but only in games with high mana pools! Pay close attention when you want to use him.
- If you draw him in a pack, then congratulations. But I wouldn't advise you to buy him to have him exclusively at level 1. If you want to level him up then definitely a good card. As a level 1 card, however, there are better alternatives as a tank, which are also partly cheaper.
