99 Mana, A Tough Boss & 500 Sparks! My Latest Pit Challenge | Splinterlands

Hello players of Splinterlands! It's @zoe01 here, back with another episode from my Splinterlands journey. After enjoying my previous Pit Challenge so much, I was honestly hoping I would get another chance to play it. And guess what? My wish came true.
Well, today in daily streak wheel gave me another Pit Challenge and I also got some good amount of Sparks. I was already excited when I saw it and this time I wanted to have a different opponent. I choose to face The Big Leronski, and this one looked much more powerful than the previous one.
So, let's get into today's battle and see how it went.
Lux's Favor Wheel & Another Pit Challenge

First I will show you what I got from my daily streak wheel:
- +200 Sparks
- +30 Bonus Sparks!
- +2,500 Bonus Sparks from reaching Tier III!
- Pit Challenge Available!
Okay, so +2,500 Sparks bonus was unexpected and I was very happy about it. And reaching Tier III made the wheel reward much better.
I was also happy to see the Pit Challenge available again. Since I enjoyed my first one so much, I didn't even think twice before clicking Go Now.
This time, I was given a new Pit Fighter to challenge.
Pit Challenge: The Big Leronski

- Opponent: The Big Leronski
- Difficulty: Normal
- Reward: 500 Sparks
- Mana Cap: 99 Mana
- Ruleset: Standard
The Big Leronski looked very scary and it has 40 Health and 8 Melee Attack. Gladly I got the 99 Mana, I had opportunity to get myself a strong team.
Choosing My Team & Battle Strategy
So, like my previous Pit Challenge I noticed the six elements were available, so I had opportunity to select the one I want to play with.
This time, I decided to stick with Dragon again because I really like using Aurendrak. Also, I have never used those expensive monsters before and I don't own it so I wanted to use them badly.
My lineup was:

- Summoner: Aurendrak
- Position 1: Buns the Unseen
- Position 2: Gorm the Vengeful
- Position 3: Vaelok
- Position 4: Necrulencian Thief
- Position 5: Great Bear Druid
- Position 6: Lenore Nevermore
I was again using several cards that I haven't had much experience with, so I wasn't sure how would win this match.
The Battle Against The Big Leronski

Once the battle started, I could immediately see that The Big Leronski wasn't going down easily and his health was not reducing as fast as I had thought. I know he had a huge health pool but I thought it would be easier like before. But he had strong attacks, so I knew my team couldn't afford to waste too many turns.
The battle became quite intense as my monsters slowly chipped away at his health. Vaelok was doing a great job with his attacks, while Gorm the Vengeful was giving it's best to stay stable.

But I wasn't feeling the usual pressure of losing rating when I play frontier mode or modern mode. I was just enjoying the fight. So, it took 5 Rounds to end Big Leronski.
Victory Rewards & My Spark Progress

After defeating The Big Leronski, I received:
- +500 Sparks
This match helped me with getting more sparks, which is like 3,230 Sparks, it was a huge boost compared with a normal daily reward. Previously my Sparks were around 21,423, and after this, now I have 24,653 Sparks. So, it means I'm getting closer to my goal of achieving 30,000 Sparks.
Now, I only need 5,347 more Sparks to reach my target and finally get the powerful card I've been saving for from the Spark Shop. To be honest, Pit Challenges are becoming one of my favorite things in Splinterlands. I really didn't expect to enjoy them this much when I first tried one. As I was hoping to get another chance for Pit Challenge and now that I've gotten one again so I'm very obsessed with it.
The combination of 99 Mana, powerful monsters, and extra Sparks makes these battles feel completely different from my usual Modern ranked matches.
I really hope I get another one soon!
Final Thoughts
The Pit Challenge against The Big Leronski was a fun experience. I didn't have a complicated strategy for it. I just saw the 99 Mana and picked unique cards which looked powerful and trusted my instincts. If you have never played pit challenges then you're missing out a lot. To be honest, it's one of the best feature of Splinterlands.
