⚔️ Accessible Splinterlands: Exploring the "Play!" Menu (Part 2)
I totally get your excitement, I was the exact same way! But before we jump into the arena to test our skills, let's go over 4 other sections. This way you'll get the full picture and can focus completely on the battle.
Featured Sections
Once you press Enter on the Play option, you'll find all the available sections. Let's get started!
The Challenge (Sfida)
In this section, we can challenge a friend. The interface is very simple and you only need a few keys to navigate it easily.
First, we set up the battle in detail: we choose which set to use, the card levels, and the combat rules. Once everything is set, we type the opponent's name into the text box and click start.
Practical tip: To change the settings, I recommend using the B key to find the buttons, pressing Enter on them, and changing the values using the up and down arrows. Just a quick note: these buttons don't look like actual dropdown menus, so the C key won't detect them. Finally, use the E key to quickly find the text box where you need to type your rival's name.
Practice
The keyboard commands here are identical and the screen looks almost the same. The only difference is the menus: again, they aren't read as menus by the screen reader, but they will open normally when you click on them.
What do we find in this section? The set to practice with, the maximum card level we can use, and an awesome feature: choosing your opponent's skill level. In this menu, you can pick between:
Novice opponent
Skilled opponent
Professor level
I think this is an amazing feature. Playing in PVE (against the computer) helps you understand the right card positioning and study the best countermoves for specific battles. It's like playing with a pro who helps you grow!
The Campaign
Like stepping into a magic book, you'll slowly learn the battle dynamics. It might seem a bit boring at first, but it gives great advice to new players, analyzing the moves step by step.
To move around like a pro here, always use the B key followed by Enter, then use the arrows to follow what the interface tells you.
In this section, you can explore a real training course at your own pace before heading straight into battle. It's not mandatory—nothing is in the Web3 world—but it is highly recommended.
The Brawl (La Rissa)
Since you are new players, this feature will be locked at first. But I still want to give you a quick intro, because it's a key strategic element for your growth.
Once you join a guild (we'll see how to do that in future posts), this part of the Play section will unlock. Why is it so important?
By joining a guild, you can play in Brawls. Once they are over, you'll get SPS tokens that you can stake or convert into DEC, which are super useful for buying more cards. But let's not get ahead of ourselves for now!
Besides this excellent feature, if you get lucky like I did (my guild is called Splintercell), you'll find more experienced players ready to help and give advice. In my case, they even delegated cards to me that you could only dream of at the beginning: very high levels, magic cards, and legendary rarities with prices that are way too high when you're just starting out. Look for a good guild and you'll be glad you did!

⚔️ Splinterlands Accessibile: Alla Scoperta del Menù "Play!" (Parte 2)
Capisco la vostra frenesia, ero così anche io! Prima di entrare in arena per metterci alla prova, però, conosciamo altre 4 sezioni, così da avere il quadro completo e poterci dedicare esclusivamente alla battaglia.
Le sezioni in evidenza
Una volta premuto Invio sulla voce Play, troverete tutte le sezioni disponibili. Cominciamo!
La Sfida
In questa sezione possiamo sfidare un nostro amico. L'interfaccia è molto semplice e basta usare pochi tasti per navigarla facilmente.
Per prima cosa creiamo la battaglia nei minimi particolari: decidiamo quale set usare, il livello delle carte e le regole di combattimento. Una volta impostata, scriviamo nella casella di testo il nome dell’avversario e clicchiamo su inizia.
Consiglio pratico: Per modificare le impostazioni vi consiglio di usare il tasto B per rilevare i pulsanti, premerci sopra con Invio e modificare i valori con le frecce su e giù. Piccola nota: questi bottoni non sembrano veri e propri menù a tendina, quindi non vengono rilevati dal tasto C. Infine, usate il tasto E per trovare rapidamente la casella di testo in cui scrivere il nome del rivale.
Pratica
I comandi da tastiera sono identici e anche la schermata si differenzia di pochissimo. L'unica diversità riguarda i menù: anche in questo caso non vengono letti come tali, ma cliccandoci sopra si apriranno normalmente.
Cosa troviamo in questa sezione? Il set con cui cimentarsi, il livello massimo delle carte che possiamo usare e una fantastica funzione: la selezione del livello del nostro avversario. In questo menù potrai scegliere tra:
Avversario novizio
Avversario con skill
Livello professore
Lo reputo un elemento eccezionale. Giocare in PVE (contro il computer) ti aiuta a capire il giusto posizionamento delle carte e a studiare le contromosse da applicare. È come giocare con un professionista che ti fa crescere!
La Campagna
Come in un libro magico, entrerai piano piano nelle dinamiche di battaglia. All’inizio può sembrare noioso, ma ai nuovi giocatori offre ottimi consigli, analizzando passo dopo passo le mosse da fare.
Qui, per muoverti da vero professionista, usa sempre il tasto B seguito da Invio, poi segui con le frecce ciò che ti comunica l'interfaccia.
In questa sezione esplorerai senza frenesia un vero e corso formativo che ti porterà dritto alla battaglia. Non è obbligatorio – nulla lo è nel mondo del Web3 – ma è fortemente consigliato.
La Rissa
Essendo nuovi giocatori, questa funzione inizialmente sarà disabilitata. Voglio comunque farvi un piccolo accenno, definendolo un elemento strategico fondamentale per la vostra crescita.
Entrando in una gilda (vedremo nei prossimi post come fare), vi si sbloccherà questa parte della sezione Play. Perché è così importante?
Entrando a far parte di una gilda potrete giocare le Risse. Una volta concluse, riceverete dei token SPS da poter mettere in staking o convertire in DEC, utilissimi per acquistare altre carte. Ma non entriamo troppo nel vivo per ora!
Oltre a questa eccellente funzione, se sarete fortunati come lo sono stato io (la mia gilda si chiama Splintercell), troverete player più esperti pronti ad aiutarvi e consigliarvi. Nel mio caso, mi hanno persino delegato delle carte che all’inizio si possono solo sognare: livelli altissimi, arcani e rarità leggendarie con prezzi proibitivi per chi comincia. Cerca bene una gilda e ne sarai felice!
