Good morning, fellow warriors! ⚔️
It’s your guy @zusi78 back in the arena.

I have been grinding a lot of Brawls lately and stacking Gladiators, so I wanted to drop a quick breakdown for the new players (and a reminder for the veterans).

For the record, there is a direct loop between Brawls, Merits and Gladiators that a lot of people still underestimate:

  • You show up and fight in Guild Brawls.

  • At the end of every Brawl, members who complete at least 75% of their Fray battles receive full Crowns and Merits (your personal Win/Loss doesn’t matter)

  • You spend those Merits in the Guild Store on Gladius Cases (2,000 Merits each)

  • Every Case gives you 5 Gladiator cards (1 guaranteed Rare or better)

  • All Gladiators come with the nasty Bloodlust ability (+1 to all non-zero stats every time they get a kill).

In summary:

  • The guild earns Crowns (based on overall ranking/performance). Crowns are used by leaders/officers to upgrade guild buildings (Arena, Store, Barracks, etc.).

  • Individual participating members earn Merits. Merits are a soulbound (non-transferable, non-tradeable) guild currency.

So the more consistent you are in Brawl participation = more Merits = more Gladiators = stronger teams = even better Brawl results. It is a beautiful compounding loop. This system heavily rewards the people who show up week after week. You don’t have to be the best player — you just have to be reliable. The brawl just ended and my guild came in third. Immediately after the results came out and the spoils were shared, I took a look at the merits earned. That guided me on whether to wait for another brawl to earn more merits or go to the store and purchase Gladius cases. But this time, I chose the latter.

I went to the Guild store, saw the merits l have there and found out it would only give me one gladius case.So I topped the merits using glints and that would enable me buy at least two gladius cases.

OPENING THE GLADIUS CASES AND MY GLADIATORS CARD COLLECTIONS.

I got two rare and 8 common gladiators.

MY COLLECTIONS SO FAR:There are currently 32 Gladiator cards in total in the Gladius Edition. These are the unique card types (not counting gold foils or multiple copies/BCX).

  • Common 10,
  • Rare 10
  • Epic 5
  • Legendary 7

All 32 have the Bloodlust ability, and below is my current gladiators upgrades and the various rarity I have acquired so far.

TEN(10) COMMON: I have gotten the complete 10 common edition and are all upgraded to 3.

TEN(10) RARE:I have gotten the complete 10 rare edition and are all upgraded to level 2.

Four(4) out of five(5) EPIC gotten,1 more to go, upgrading in progress.Epic is actually hard to pull.

TWO (2) LEGENDARY gotten,5 more to complete the edition.

FEATURED BRAWL BATTLE: In this brawl my deck completely and thoroughly took care of Quora Towershead.
