So this is a new tune,

inspired by the best blockchain game ever, Splinterlands! I was going to have this be my submission for this week's contest, but I have a second tune that I'll be submitting tomorrow. This song has some cool stuff going on, but I don't think it's nearly complete enough, nor organized in the way I wanted. I was hoping for a sort of dark, off kilter kinda vibe, sorta like being lost in the dark woods or something, which is why the chord changes are in unusual places. I think it sorta got there, but I dunno, it feels a little random and odd to me. But, it may be a good jumping off point for something more in depth.

Track 1 provides a synth

part that is in the background of the entire song, just below the main piano in Track 2. The piano begins on our tonic of Bmin, then down to a Gmin, which keeps things nice and dark, before an F#, to an Emaj which I substituted in last minute, as the diatonic chord of Emin felt a little boring. Basically each "segment" repeats the same progression two times, with the single chord at the end changing from an Eb/A the first time, to a Bbdim the second.

Tracks 5 and 6, final group, strings.

Track 3 provides some more

layers of harmony, following the same piano chords essentially, using a synth from Native Instruments. This track is a bit quieter, but timbre wise worked well with Track 1. Finally, we have the purple group at the end, which is two of the "scary strings" from Spitfire Audio's LABS, panned in each speaker, playing the progression above. Overall, I think these instruments fit together well enough, but there's something about the general progression that just wasn't doing it for me, so I'm gonna continue working on this and see what happens.

Hope you've enjoyed today's walkthrough and the song! Thanks for listening, and stay tuned for my contest submission tomorrow!
