A meditation on Hardfork

I was finally able sit down and listen to @exyle's Crypto talk Monday with guest @theycallmedan. As I listened I jotted down some notes. What I heard on the show, my own thoughts and ideas, What role(s) I want to play in the future of steem. and another piece of writing.

And to be honest, I have no freaking clue. I know I enjoy writing and @steemmonsters and I am playing around with @actifit but something still seems missing, unfulfilled.

My voice is small (as measured in steem) but I like the idea of doing my part in spreading the good word about Steem. Maybe offer a free account or tokens...

or perhaps I could build my Steem power up and hunt for good content to curate and comment on. I like the that idea.

I'm sure I will find my way eventually through trial and error and experiments. who knows, maybe I will create my own Dapp. wouldn't that be a trip. The meditoken!

anyway, I also wrote the following as I listened to the podcast. I was going use this as it's own post but it's much to short for that. So I decided to share it here. Besides it was born from a stream of consciousness while listening to the show. It only seems fitting to include it here.

The rebel, the follower, the witness

Walk into a bar...

The rebel being the badass who makes a ruckus and follows their own rules. The follower as the good one who does as their told, and the the witness, the watcher between the two extremes. Who will emerge? Does it matter?

My point is we are all one of these characters at some point in our lives. We jump back and forth, maybe multiple times, depending on the situation and events that unfold in our lives.

Who am I today? We might ask ourselves. Am I willing to stand up and make noise or is this more of a tactical sit down approach? Or Netflix and chill for now and see how it all play out.

My personal approach to the upcoming Hardfork is to merge the rebel and witness and leave the goody goody on the side of the road… or ditch. There's a time and place for the follower…

that time is past.
