Well I'm A Legionnaire.....
I did some quick back of the fag packet math and decided it was worth buying an additional 650 VOUCHER to add to the roughly 350 I was getting from my airdrop and upped my pack purchases to 1000...
And since I was moving around some fairly large sums ($10K for the VOUCHER, maybe that is a bit NUTS?) I decided to buy enough additional SPS to buy the packs now rather than later, and the title, may as well benefit from the extra SPS for as long as possible...
NB While $10K sounds like a lot, I doubt very much if anyone's going to be selling A NEUTRAL GOLD FOIL LEGENDARY PROMO card for less than $20K....
Blighty is going to be MORE useful than all of the above promos, because he's netural and relatiely low mana, and yes there may be a fair few of them because there are more being dropped on a million pack batch, but this is the lot, they won't be appearing in packs and I think Blighty's enhanced utility will make it worth at least parity with these - in the $20K range.
Of course it might be difficult to sell, but the rental return on this is going to be good too, and the CP for the airdrop going forwards.
It felt a little bit nuts spunking around 12K Hive on 650 Voucher and then jiggling funds about to buy that Hive back.
I funded a third of this with some AVA I had which has been doing VERY LITTLE recenlty, and some ETH, which I'll buy back gradually, and some stables.
It's a bit of a gamble of course. But I think even if Blightly ends up being worth $6-7K I'm in profit - along with the other regular Blights and SPS from the title and the early packs and the extra drops of aidropped cards for getting in early, all of the extras are worth at least $3-4K together.
AND add to this now I can relax and I don't have to worry about desperaetely buying more and more packs, I can sell a few VOUCHER and some SPS and DEC to gradually cover the costs above over the next couple of months.

Congrats for taking the dive! Your decision may have been the better one. I decided not to buy any additional vouchers. I hope I won't regret this later on.
Well there is one thing about NOT doing this - you don't expose yourself to risk!
Then again I'm not risking HUGE amounts.

I think we have been in this space to long... Money is losing its value... I found myself buying a Fluff_world Nft for 5k last week and did not really question the move

I saw your rationale but you (or I) then end up with a very illiquid NFT. They are a tough sell. I will buy the second wave (via earned VOUCHER) and then the free for all if it doesn't crash the damn website!
I hear you - but it was ultimately a comment that @azricon dropped in Discord about being able to rent these out for > 1000 DEC a day at the EOS.....
That I like, and also with LAND it's another asset to stake as well, and two maxed regular blights (almost) if I choose to level them up.
But I fully accpet this was mental - if it hadn't been for that AVA just doing nothing I might not have bothered.

Well Hive is down compared to last night so that's an easier buy back number one for starters!
I aimed to get to the 100 pack drop and have staked enough for that, to get to the 1000 would cost me 15k and thats a bit to steep for me. I have about 700k in DEC but that only gets me close to 9k. Not willing to add another 6 on top. I guess I might regret that later though. I would say that for now my Splinterlands holdings are valued at about 200k usd. this skews my whole portfolio massively so I do not want to go and add more. Who knows, I might get lucky and land a gold foil Blight. and on top of that I got stuck at 23k Hive, I am not a mighty Orca like you, lol

It's a dice roll buying those packs now - But I think the GFL will be worth it, and all the added benefits of getting in early.
It also means I can now sell some SPS and DEC and VOUCHER to get my money back!

Congratulations! Gotta be honest, I'm sort of jealous! If I had that much investment allocation for Splinterlands, I probably would also try to go for Legionnaire. Honestly hope your investment pays of! (if yours pays off, that means everyone who bought for the presale also pays off)

I already sold a portion of my vouchers the moment I heard how general sale was going to work. I believe the only reason Vouchers prices haven't greatly decreased yet is because there hasn't been an official post detailing general sale yet. Once its released and the information starts to get spread around, I suspect Voucher prices to sink drastically.
I want that Dr. Blight card so I'll likely still limp in with a 150 pack purchase and sell the rest of my vouchers until 3 million packs are sold. I will then use those funds to purchase as many packs as I can.
It's certainly the presale perks that's keeping the price up ATM and unless they release some fairly detailed information about future mechanics and how voucher relates I imagine the price tanking too.
I can't see any signficant advantage to buying the first two million with VOUCHER, other than the first two aidrops, but then again if they're both valuable cards and there are guaranteed GLFs for another 1000 packs vouchers might hold their value.
It's all a win at the end of the day!
