New Year's Resolution

Yes, it is that time of the year where we all either think about our New Year's Resolution or just live life in the moment. I know not EVERYONE tends to write down their resolution but I actually find it pretty useful and you can definitely feel the accomplishment of every year when you hit a goal. To be honest, I wasn't a fan of writing resolutions but quickly found out that it is actually useful to me, at least for me. I find writing resolutions helped my mind align and focus on major goals that are supposed to be done in that year.

This year alone, I've managed to nearly clear all my new year resolutions and because I've set goals for myself, I can then feel the satisfaction and knowing that my life has been productive. So I would like to challenge you guys if you haven't try writing your New Year Resolutions, now is the opportunity to write them and might as well submit your entries in.

I hope that everyone not only gets to earn some prizes through this contest but your own personal life will be more purposeful after writing your New Year Resolution.

Time is moving at its own pace, and we are connected to that momentum of time. The momentum of our life is equally constant over that time. But in the meantime we have to try to control life, achieve life's goals and, above all, enjoy life.

I completely understand the concept and tradition of our deciding to focus on improving some aspect of ourselves in some way that, if followed, no sane person would dispute would be beneficial to us, our health, and our lives. The resolution has never been part of my life beyond acknowledging the novelty of the idea however.

So, without actually doing any research, my personal guess is that the whole New Year’s resolution idea was conceived by some ancient religious or cultist leaders for use in some fairly ancient ritual, and the process has been modified here and there down through the centuries.

I don't know what's that tning they call plan. I'm not good in planning because it will ended up just a plan. I don't know how to execute the thoughts of my mind. I know I should blame myself for that. It's me who planned it but why I couldn't do it. No one will understand me for that because even me having hard time understanding it.

Of Resolutions and Success by @porters

As I am nearing retirement I start to make plans, which I strengthen by making them resolutions, for the way I want to live my life.

Being out of the work-a-day world, with out any contracts to fulfill plus my family being all grown, my time will be my own.

One thing that is very important in my life is the Dhamma and my Vipassana meditation practice. I want to grow in my understanding of the teachings of the Buddha, which shows the way out of suffering. I wish my life to be peaceful, full of love and joy!

January 1, 2020. New Year's Eve is now a pleasant memory after I ate my last chocolate chip cookie. Why? Because my New Year's Resolution is:

2020 A1C Level Goal: Less Than 100Why does my A1C Level need to be less than 100? Because I have Type 2 Diabetes. I was diagnosed in May, 2019. At that time, my A1C Level was dangerously high. Since then, I've struggled with trying to cut that number at least by half.

We all hope to be our better selves in the upcoming year, that is why resolutions are made. To point out the goals and achievements we need to make in a time frame. In my view having goals and trying to achieve them is ambitious and people without goals tend to get lost in life. That is why New years resolutions are important.

During the year we do many important things and others that are not so important, but what really matters is to live what implies successes and mistakes. Life is learning, I always say that experiences make experience. Experience that we need to apply in the same life. Yes, it looks like a circle and it is; what we learn is applicable in all aspects and moments of our life.

When the rain comes, hold out your hands.

If the wind blows all your troubles away, let it.

Are we looking to expect what we want, or are we looking for another pass?

On the subatomic level where none of this matters; other things are going on that seem fantastic, but are nonetheless so in their workings however one would look at them, one eye or the other.

Nothing as likely on the other hand is a pressing need to be answered in a certain way that sometimes is not appropriate unless you’re a singing angel, and even then, New Year’s resolutions aside of course.

Falling in this, you must hold your face to the rain and drink all you can; and let the mask go; it is nothing more than a bargain you have paid dearly for. Open your eyes now for it is time to see what you really want in the New Year.
