Moving In A New Place

This week's contest would be about welcoming new things and how we're going to adapt to the New Year. It'll be a prompt-like contest where I challenge you all to imaginative writing and see what you all can come up with. Usually, I'd like this type of prompt contest to be without boundaries. This means that you can use whatever medium: drawing, painting, poem, song and however you want to do this contest. I'm all for our Powerhousecreatives creativity and I'm bound to be amazed.

Here is the prompt :

You move into this new place, write about how you would decorate the place and tell us about your surroundings. Why would you want the living room to be orange? Or blue? Would you be moving into the city or the outskirts?

PS : This contest is created only for the members of #powerhousecreatives.

My Beach House by @jayna

As we head into the New Year, it's time to think about new beginnings and shake the dust off of our lives. But it's not just a new year. It's a new decade. It is like a blank notebook to fill with dreams of what might be possible, and the blueprints for bringing them to life.

At the same time, my husband and I have begun talking about where we want to live next. The kids are growing up and moving out, and it won't be long before our home feels too big for us. We will never leave Minnesota, but in the winter we dream of getting away somewhere warm for at least a month or so. Sometimes we think about buying a second home where we can visit anytime and rent it out for parts of the year to cover the costs.

And so, here is my dream house — my get-away for the cold winter months.

I happened to grow up in a rural environment, as I’ve mentioned several times in my writing. It’s provided contrast. Contrast is a worthy aid. Predictably, contrast has revealed things to me due to my rural upbringing, and the main one is that there aren’t cockroaches in rural areas. At least there weren’t any where I grew up.

There really weren’t.

So why on earth am I opening a story about how I’d decorate, remodel, or refashion my new living quarters, by bringing up my experiences with yucky cockroaches? It’s simply because ever since I first started living in urban settings, I’ve become pretty familiar with the filthy bastards; but I’d first met them overseas.

2019 was a year of change; a year of movements; a year of adjustment; a year of adaptability

Moving myself from home sweet home in Malaysia where my husband & two boys were and making the decision to pack my bags and move into a different country was a BIG MOVE. If not for the support from everyone back home, I wouldn't be able to make this decision and move. That was 10 months and 3 weeks ago.

Feng Shui In a Log Cabin by @justclickindiva

My dream home. What a beautiful home it is in the country. A log cabin home built in 2019. I'm scheduled to move in on January 31, 2020. After a 35-year tumultuous corporate career, I retired a few years ago, I wanted a log cabin as my permanent retirement home for rest and relaxation. The home pictured above is my ideal log cabin.

But before I can move in, I have to make some major changes in my life. I'm required to remove all excess clutter I've surrounded myself with for many years. And I only have 30 days to complete this transformation. I read about Feng Shui. Nothing but rave reviews that this really works to provide a positive energy flow throughout a home.

A house full of stories, or a full house, that one with John Stamos without the cute twins because we have a majority of boys in our family tree. And like every house I think, if you look up close about a thousand stories . I'm Britt, married to C the best ever, already for a long time. With 2 teenagers, 2 pre-ten years little ones , 2 dogs, 11 ducks and and since yesterday a lot of birds in the garden in Our dream house.

Housing has become a worldwide problem with the population of this planet skyrocketing to 7.8 billion people. That figure is double to what it was when I starting looking for housing after leaving my parent’s home.

Moving into new digs has different requirements depending on your age and family. Most young couple still want the lovely three bedroom house with the white picket fence. Often they envision an upgrade to a higher-end house or condo as finances improve or children leave the nest. Most desire a forever home comparable to what their friends live in.
