Welcome back to my blog where I'll talk about a splinterlands battle that's worth sharing.

You never know when you'll find an earthquake, do you?
Nope, you don't.
You'll never know the whereabouts of an earthquake not only in real life but also in splinterlands.

If you're a regular player of splinterlands who follows or try to follow rules of battles, then you should know that no one can guess what rule they'll have to face the next.
Yeah, that's what I was talking about.

In this post... I'm going to show an amazing battle that I had to fight with an opponent that used only gold foil monsters.
We normally know that gold foil monsters have more power than non-gold ones and we have a thin possibility to win against them but this time... the earthquake rule helped me win with my non-gold monsters against an army of gold foil monsters.

About the ruleset: Earthquake

Non-flying monsters take 2 melee damage at the end of each round.
Now, that's what the rule says in shortcut and I don't think everyone will know about it at the first sight.

About Non-flying monsters: There are some monsters with certain abilities and some monsters get those abilities in level one while some monsters have to be leveled up for that and some monsters don't have such abilities at all.

There are some monsters with the ability as "Flying".
How do you know if a monster has that ability or not?
You should always check below the card to know about the ability

This is the logo of the ability "Flying".

If you see this logo/photo ( or anything you may call it) in any cards then you'll have to understand that... that card is a flying card.

Those who don't have this ability is a non-flying monster.

Now... if any monster doesn't have this ability which makes it a non-flying monster so it'll take 2 melee damage at the end of each round in the earthquake ruleset.

A Brief Info About The Match

The battles mana cap was 23 with the "Earthquake" Rule.
I used dragon splinter using the death team for the match while my opponent used death splinter.

My Lineup.

As the only rule for the battle was "Earthquake" so I knew I had to find some monsters with "Flying" ability no matter what.
I have a favorite flying monster in dragon splinter that has the "reach" ability with two melee attack sand I knew my death team will provide me the best monsters with flying ability.

So, I headed for Dragon splinter with Death Team.

Then I tried to select monsters that have the "Flying" ability for sure.

I had my Summoner CAMILA SUNGAZER in level 3, Phantasm in level 5, Manticore in level 3, Phantom Soldier in level 2, Cocatrice in level 3 & Furious Chicken in level 4.

And then I've found an opponent with a gold-foil team who uses his/her cards as Haunted Spirit (Gold) in level 3, Spineback Wolf (Gold) in level 4, Undead Priest (Gold) in level 3, Centaur (Gold) in level 4, Twisted Jester (Gold) in level 3 & Furious Chicken (Gold) in level 3.

Let me talk about cards that I used in this battle.

Summoner: CAMILA SUNGAZER ^{(LEGENDARY Dragon Summoner)} - as summoner.

It is said that Camila Sungazer received her summoning abilities from visions wrought by staring day after day at the noon sun for her entire life. She is, of course, completely blind from staring at the sun, but her magic is most impressive - Source.

This is the first legendary summoner that I added to my deck.
I only had rare summoners before and then I was searching for some nice cards that have bigger DEC as burning price as I was and am still looking for unlocking new leagues that need many more collections more.

All enemy melee monsters have -1 melee attack.

She offers -1 melee attack to all enemy melee monsters.
This means that those in the opponent/enemy team with a melee attack will lose 1 melee attack for example if a monster normally offers 2 melee attacks then it'll only able to attack with 1 melee attack.

This summoner seemed a perfect one so I bought some to it and made it level 3.
She needs 3 mana for battle.

No 01: PHANTASM ^{(COMMON Death Monster)}

I did a brilliant thing getting a Phantasm on a bigger level in my collection.
Probably because I forgot about it.
It's a really great card with flying ability in common.

My Phantasm is in level 5 with 3 melee attack, 5 speed, and 7 health with "Flying & Return Fire" abilities.
It needs 6 mana to play.

No 02: Manticore ^{(Epic Dragon Monster)}

Manticore is one of my favorite monsters in dragon splinter.
I can't think of any other melee attacker with "Reach" ability than Manticore. when I play with dragon splinter.

My Manticore is in level 3 with 2 melee attack, 3 speed, 7 health with "Flying & Reach" ability.
It needs 4 mana.

No 03: PHANTOM SOLDIER ^{(EPIC Death Monster)}

I still remember those days playing battle with death splinter where there was this monster.

Then when I bought/bot this monster in my deck, I could see its beauty... the beauty in its action.
With "flying" ability, this monster is the best fit in the earthquake ruleset and it has so nice powers.

My PHANTOM SOLDIER is in level 5 with 3 magic attacks, 3 speed, 10 health with "Flying, Silence & Void" ability.
It needs 8 mana.

No 04: COCATRICE ^{(RARE Neutral Monster)}

I think this is the only dragon in the neutral splinter.

It's another nice monster that needs only 2 mana but provides nice support.

My Cocatrice is in level 3 with 1 melee attack, 4 speed, 3 health with "Flying" ability.
It needs 2 mana.

No 05: Furious Chicken ^{(Rare Neutral Monster)}

This is the card that I use when there's slot left but no mana left.
I mean it's service is great for free I suppose.

Right now... I can't imagine playing a match without this card.
It's like the chicken that lays the golden egg.

It provides great support with its counter attack.
With 0 mana... it's just amazing.

My Furious Chicken is in level 6 with 1 melee attack, 1 speed, 1 health with "Enrage" ability.
It needs 0 mana.

On the battlefield.

The opponent used all his/her monsters of gold foil and I used non-gold ones.
I knew I was going to lose the battle with the mighty team of the opponent then I clicked on the rumble button.

With the power of my summoner, some melee attack monsters lost one melee attack each and the same happened to some of my melee attack monsters at the right before the battle starts.

Spineback Wolf of the opponent team started the battle with its first attack and following other monsters of both teams started the massacre.

At the beginning of the next round, all the monsters lost 2 healths each and even lost one monster while I only lost one monster that didn't has the flying ability.
Yeah, my opponent didn't use any monster that has the flying ability.

After some attack and return attacks, I got only two monsters while the opponent still had four monsters.

But thanks to the earthquake ruleset, that the opponent lost two more monsters and the remaining two monsters got little health while both my monsters had bigger health than the opponent's monsters and I didn't have to worry about the earthquake ruleset as both my monsters had the flying ability.

Then there were 2/3 more attacks from both teams and then a new round came and both monsters of the opponent team died in the earthquake.

It was indeed a fantastic battle that my team fought although I was lucky for the earthquake ruleset otherwise I'd never win against that team with the team that I selected.

By playing this match, I won +13.419 Dec and +11 League Rating.
