Splinterlands and Accessibility - Part 4: Buying and Renting Your First Card 🎮👁️

Now that we know how to find the monsters and summoners we are interested in, we are ready to take the next step: understanding how to read the details of a card in the results list and how to complete, step by step, our first purchase or rental.

🃏 How to choose your card: The importance of the Arcana
Once our filters are applied, scrolling down the page using the directional arrows of the screen reader, we will find ourselves in front of the results list. Each row or block will correspond to a card available on the market.
Before proceeding with the purchase, it is essential to make a small but very important strategic clarification: the most important cards to own at the very beginning are the Arcana (the Summoners).
In the game, it is the Arcana that lead the team and determine which monsters you can deploy in battle and, above all, the maximum level at which you can use them. Without a good Arcano acting as captain, even the strongest monsters will not be able to enter the battlefield at their full potential. My advice is therefore to invest your first Credits precisely to secure the main Summoners of each element.

👁️ Inside the card profile: Statistics and Navigation Tricks
Once we have identified the Arcano or monster we want, we just need to press Enter to open its dedicated screen. Here, all the specific information about that character is concentrated.
Even though we cannot see it with our eyes, the page hosts a beautiful illustration of the card: great credit must be given to the artists of Splinterlands, because the artwork behind each character is truly extraordinary and takes care of every minimal detail. In addition to the image, in this section, the screen reader will read us the basic stats of the card (such as health points, speed, or attack).
Right after the general statistics, we will find a detailed table listing all the single copies of that card put up for sale or rent by various players. Navigating this list row by row with the arrows would take a long time, but here is another fundamental trick:
• The T key (Tables): By pressing the letter T on the keyboard, the screen reader will instantly jump to the first row of the sales table. This command will save you dozens of down arrow presses, catapulting you directly into the heart of the available offers.

📊 Navigating the table and selecting the right copy
Once inside the table thanks to the T key, we will find ourselves on the first row, which usually contains the headers. To move within the actual data and scout out the best offer, we will use these commands:
• Moving down a row: Hold down the Ctrl + Alt keys and use the Down Arrow. This will move you down vertically to the next row, passing to the next copy.
• Reading the row data: To move between the various pieces of information for the same card (such as level, price in dollars, or cost in Credits), simply use the Right and Left Arrows.
When you have found the copy of the Arcano or monster that suits your needs, you must select it for purchase.
At the beginning of each row, there is a checkbox. As soon as the screen reader signals that you are over this box, just press the Spacebar to check it and officially select that specific card.

💳 Reaching the purchase button: A trick in reverse
Once the checkbox is selected with the spacebar, our order is ready, but we need to reach the button to complete the purchase.
At this point, we can move in two ways:
• The standard method: You can use the Up Arrow to go back up the table row by row and return to the purchase buttons located right above it.
• The quick trick: You can exploit the T (Tables) command again. If you are in the middle of a very long list, pressing the T key will instantly bring the screen reader back to the beginning of the table or to the next one. This will save you a lot of clicks, making you travel much less distance to exit the data and find the confirmation button immediately.
Once you find the purchase button (usually labeled as "Buy" or with a shopping cart icon), just press Enter.

🔒 The Confirmation Pop-up and Signing with Keychain
As soon as you press Enter on the purchase button, a confirmation pop-up window will appear on the screen. The screen reader will read a very clear question: "Are you sure you want to buy the card for the amount expressed in DEC?" (or in Credits, depending on the selected currency).
Right after this question, moving with the arrows, you will find the Confirm button.
Once you decide to proceed and press Enter on Confirm, your browser extension (like Hive Keychain) will automatically open to securely sign the transaction on the blockchain:

1. The screen reader will take you inside the extension window.

2. You will be asked to authorize the operation.

3. Enter your password or key if requested and confirm the transfer.
   ⚠️ A CRITICAL SECURITY NOTE: I strongly recommend that you always check very carefully where you are entering your keys. Make sure the window is actually the official one of your Keychain extension and never an unknown website. The security of your account comes first!
   Once this is done, the transaction will be registered on the blockchain in just a few seconds. You will hear the confirmation sound and you are good to go: your first card will officially be in your inventory, ready to be deployed!

🔄 And for Rentals? The only two differences
The entire process we just looked at together for buying a card remains exactly identical if you decide to rent it instead (Rentals). Moving through the table, checking the box with the spacebar, and the final confirmation follow the exact same rules, but there are only two small practical differences to keep in mind:

1. The daily price: In the data table, the figure you read will not represent the total cost to own the card forever. Instead, it is the daily rental cost (expressed in fractions of DEC or Credits).

2. Rental duration: Upon confirmation, the site will ask you to set how long you wish to keep the card. You can choose to manually enter a specific number of days or select the option to rent it directly until the end of the current season.
   If your initial Credits are low, renting is the perfect strategy to test the strongest Arcana while spending very little!

📈 How to verify your purchase
If you want to be 100% sure that the operation was successful, you have two very simple ways to verify it instantly:

1. Check your balance: Simply look at your Credits or DEC at the top of the page; you will notice right away that they have decreased by the exact amount spent on the card.

2. Search your inventory: You can navigate to the main menu, click on "Items" (or "Cards"), and search for the name of the monster or Arcano you just bought. If you find it in the list, it means it is officially yours!

Ora che sappiamo come trovare i mostri e gli evocatori che ci interessano, siamo pronti a fare il passo successivo: capire come leggere i dettagli di una carta nella lista dei risultati e come completare, passo dopo passo, il nostro primo acqisto o affitto.

🃏 Come scegliere la carta: L'importanza degli Arcani

Una volta applicati i nostri filtri, scorrendo la pagina verso il basso con le frecce direzionali dello screen reader, ci troveremo davanti alla lista dei risultati. Ogni riga o blocco corrisponderà a una carta disponibile sul mercato.

Prima di procedere all'acquisto, è fondamentale fare una piccola ma importantissima precisazione strategica: le carte più importanti in assoluto da possedere all'inizio sono gli Arcani (gli Evocatori).

Nel gioco, sono proprio gli Arcani a guidare la squadra e a determinare quali mostri potrai schierare in battaglia e, soprattutto, a quale livello massimo potrai utilizzarli. Senza un buon Arcano che faccia da capitano, anche i mostri più forti non potranno scendere in campo al massimo del loro potenziale. Il mio consiglio è quindi quello di investire i primi Crediti proprio per assicurarvi gli Evocatori principali di ogni elemento.

👁️ Dentro la scheda della carta: Statistiche e Trucchetti di navigazione

Una volta individuato l'Arcano o il mostro che ci interessa, ci basterà premere Invio per aprire la sua schermata dedicata. Qui si concentrano tutte le informazioni specifiche di quel personaggio.

Anche se noi non possiamo vederla con gli occhi, la pagina ospita una bellissima illustrazione della carta: bisogna dare grande atto ai disegnatori di Splinterlands, perché il lavoro artistico dietro ogni personaggio è davvero straordinario e cura ogni minimo dettaglio. Oltre all'immagine, in questa sezione lo screen reader ci leggerà le statistiche di base della carta (come punti vita, velocità o attacco).

Subito dopo le statistiche generali, troveremo una tabella dettagliata che elenca tutte le singole copie di quella carta messe in vendita o in affitto dai vari giocatori. Navigare questa lista riga per riga con le frecce richiederebbe molto tempo, ma ecco un altro trucchetto fondamentale:

• Il tasto T (Tabelle): Premendo la lettera T sulla tastiera, lo screen reader salterà istantaneamente alla prima riga della tabella delle vendite. Questo comando vi farà risparmiare decine di colpi di freccia giù, catapultandovi direttamente nel cuore delle offerte disponibili.

📊 Navigare la tabella e selezionare la copia giusta

Una volta entrati nella tabella grazie al tasto T, ci troveremo sulla prima riga, che solitamente contiene le intestazioni. Per muoverci all'interno dei dati reali e scovare l'offerta migliore, useremo questi comandi:

• Scendere di riga: Tenete premuti i tasti Ctrl + Alt e usate la Freccia Giù. Questo vi farà scendere verticalmente alla riga inferiore, passando alla copia successiva.

• Leggere i dati della riga: Per spostarvi tra le varie informazioni della stessa carta (come il livello, il prezzo in dollari o il costo in Crediti), vi basterà usare semplicemente le Frecce Destra e Sinistra.

Quando avrete individuato la copia dell'Arcano o del mostro che fa al caso vostro, dovete selezionarla per l'acquisto.

All'inizio di ogni riga è presente una casella di controllo (checkbox). Appena lo screen reader vi segnala di essere sopra questa casella, vi basterà premere la Barra Spaziatrice per spuntarla e selezionare ufficialmente quella specifica carta.

💳 Raggiungere il tasto di acquisto: Un trucco al contrario

Una volta selezionata la casella di controllo con la barra spaziatrice, il nostro ordine è pronto, ma dobbiamo raggiungere il pulsante per completare l'acquisto.

A questo punto possiamo muoverci in due modi:

• Il metodo standard: Potete usare la Freccia Su per risalire la tabella riga per riga e tornare indietro fino ai pulsanti di acquisto posizionati subito sopra.

• Il trucco rapido: Potete sfruttare di nuovo il comando T (Tabelle). Se vi trovate a metà di una lista molto lunga, premendo il tasto T lo screen reader vi riporterà istantaneamente all'inizio della tabella o a quella successiva. Questo vi farà risparmiare tantissimi clic, facendovi fare molta meno strada per uscire dai dati e trovare subito il tasto di conferma.

Una volta individuato il pulsante di acquisto (solitamente indicato come "Buy" o con l'icona del carrello), vi basterà premere Invio.

🔒 Il Pop-up di conferma e la firma con Keychain

Appena premerete Invio sul tasto di acquisto, sullo schermo apparirà una finestra pop-up di controllo. Lo screen reader vi leggerà una domanda molto chiara: "Sei sicuro di voler acquistare la carta per la cifra espressa in DEC?" (oppure in Crediti, a seconda della valuta selezionata).

Subito dopo questa domanda, muovendovi con le frecce, troverete il tasto Conferma.

Una volta deciso di procedere e premuto Invio su Conferma, si aprirà automaticamente l'estensione del vostro browser (come Hive Keychain) per firmare in sicurezza la transazione sulla blockchain:

1. Lo screen reader vi porterà all'interno della finestra dell'estensione.

2. Vi verrà chiesto di autorizzare l'operazione.

3. Inserite la vostra password o chiave se richiesto e confermate il trasferimento.

⚠️ UNA NOTA DI SICUREZZA FONDAMENTALE: Vi raccomando caldamente di controllare sempre con molta attenzione dove state inserendo le vostre chiavi. Assicuratevi che la finestra sia effettivamente quella ufficiale della vostra estensione Keychain e mai un sito web sconosciuto. La sicurezza del vostro account viene prima di tutto!

Fatto questo, la transazione verrà registrata sulla blockchain in pochissimi secondi. Sentirete il segnale di conferma e il gioco è fatto: la vostra prima carta sarà ufficialmente nel vostro inventario, pronta per essere schierata!

🔄 E per gli Affitti? Le uniche due differenze

Tutto il procedimento che abbiamo appena visto insieme per l'acquisto della carta rimane esattamente identico se decidete di prenderla in affitto (Rentals). Lo spostamento in tabella, la casella di controllo da attivare con la barra spaziatrice e la conferma finale seguono le stesse identiche regole, ma ci sono due sole piccole differenze pratiche da tenere a mente:

1. Il prezzo giornaliero: Nella tabella dei dati, la cifra che leggerete non rappresenterà il costo totale per possedere la carta per sempre. Si tratta invece del costo di affitto giornaliero (espresso in frazioni di DEC o Crediti).

2. Durata del noleggio: Al momento della conferma, il sito vi chiederà di impostare per quanto tempo desiderate tenere la carta. Potrete scegliere se inserire manualmente un numero specifico di giorni oppure se selezionare l'opzione per affittarla direttamente fino alla fine della stagione in corso.

Se i vostri Crediti iniziali sono pochi, l'affitto è la strategia perfetta per testare gli Arcani più forti spendendo pochissimo!

📈 Come verificare l'acquisto

Se volete essere sicuri al 100% che l'operazione sia andata a buon fine, avete due modi semplicissimi per verificarlo all'istante:

1. Controllare il saldo: Vi basterà osservare i vostri Crediti o DEC in alto nella pagina; noterete subito che saranno diminuiti della cifra esatta spesa per la carta.

2. Cercare nell'inventario: Potete spostarvi nel menu principale, cliccare sulla voce "Items" (o "Cards") e cercare il nome del mostro o dell'Arcano appena comprato. Se lo trovate nella lista, significa che è ufficialmente vostro!
